Who knows if Sampson and staff have truly reached out to Hall. However if they have, this isn’t their first rodeo, they’ll determine if there’s a fit here or not and what the kids agenda is. I trust Sampson and his staff to vet the kid and if they’re on board with it who is anyone on here to disagree with them given their track record? Personally I don’t think he’s coming here but only time will tell.
He’s a very very good basketball player. If CKS wants him, it means his attitude is fine and he’ll be fine. Only issue I’ve seen is that he transfers a lot

The most notable offensive player on our team in dedan… who hasn’t even played high major ball yet (injury) … Keyshawn averaged essentially 20pts in a top 2 league the last 2 seasons
At worst he is a safety net for our bigs … if Diane and the mid majors need transition time… jojo/keyshawn is stil an elite backcourt
At best (where it gets interesting) the bigs turn out great, we get to copy Michigan (last year ) and Florida (year before ) title formula and run 3 bigs
We could put lineups up of
6’7 McCarty (7ft wingspan), 6’7 Keyshawn, 6’8 jojo (7’6 wingspan) 7’0 Diane on the court at the same time …
Without pure coog spirit we probably aren’t title contenders this year (atleast preseason- Gus have to prove themselves) … we probably jump to preseason top 5 if we get him
Again this is not accounting for the chemistry element

I would also argue that MWC is high-major depending on what your qualifications are for that…
I’m not worried about DJ having to step up in skill… I’m worried about his injury history and KJ being ready to go behind him.
Front court. But he definitely makes the team better on paper. On paper we become in line with Florida as one of the top front courts in the country imo

I don’t know what his defense looks like, but a dude like that is a matchup nightmare for opposing teams with the rest of our lineup.
He can score inside and outside, and his size is a problem for most 3s.

I remember him having a pretty good game. In particular, I remember how good he was at driving to the basket.
Just looked up the stats. He scored 20 points and pulled down 11 boards. Pretty good.
Regardless, I have a hard time seeing him at Houston. I’m guessing Houston is being mentioned to leverage his paycheck.

He is a difficult matchup with his ball handling, speed and size. We were brilliant against him when he was at UCF and shut him down. He got some against us with Auburn defending him with younger players.

Rewatching last year’s game and what jumps out at me immediately is Hall has defended every player on the court for the Coogs 1-5 and he has the ball skills of a shooting guard.
Definitely would be one of the best, if not the best, offensive players on the Coogs if he were to join.
Also, great effort on D & rebounding.
Also, Harwell missed a bunny and I need to quit posting in the game threads and pay more attention. …
Hall actually lead the B12 in scoring in 2024-25 at UCF…

Yeah, I’d definitely call him functionally more of a skilled scoring 4 in today’s game. But he is definitely a 3/4. And the game is moving bigger so this versatility helps.
Oddly, I think offensively he kind of IS a little bit of what you HOPE McCarty will be. But IMO he’s all offense, and like @IowaCoog alluded to… you can’t bring in a guy like that with all the attention he’s getting without 100% changing the locker room. And he’s not really a winner, either. Best we can tell.
And i think it’d be unlikely to be a positive change, IMO. He’s talented for sure and I do think ppl question your ability to just get buckets in general, at least up front. Your posts are dogs, but I’m not 100% sold you’ll get much offensively there. I’ll probably be wrong.

Jojo, with an actual off-season, is going to be so much better offensively. His last 10 games or gave us a glimpse. And….he stayed out of foul trouble. Win!

He can take some guys off the dribble but not sure what he can add to his repertoire this year to be an offensive force
What made JoJo more effective late last year is Kelvin stopped posting him up. He talks about it in one of the interviews later in the season. He talks about JoJo posting up against 6’10-7 footers with not much success. Against teams that bring two to the ball on PNRs he short rolls and now is facing the basket. Same with get action which essentially is a PNR.

Yeah, he just doesn’t have the bulk and strength to really post-up effectively. He’ll probably be better at it this year, though.
Yup! he’s actually a perfect fit in nearly every way for get actions. I can see him being effective in short rolls, too.
But on gets he can use that dribble drive if a lane opens up on the hand-back action. AND he’s legitimately a good FT shooter now

I went back and watched the Auburn game from last season and in the first 10 minutes of the game he guarded Cenac, Jojo, Uzan & Flemings and was boxing out on shots…
I definitely didn’t see why there have been comments about him lacking on defense/rebounding…
