First thoughts or observations:
Texas Tech needs to cancel one of their games and add USC. USC needs a game. Texas Tech needs a better OOC schedule. If they don’t Houston or Arizona should go get that game.
“Biggest games” for prestige have to be ASU @ Texas A&M, Baylor vs Auburn, BYU vs Notre Dame, OSU vs Oregon.
Utah, BYU, WVU, UCF, TTU, TCU, ISU, K State, and Arizona all have 7 home games.
WVU, Utah, UCF, TTU, TCU, K-state, Houston, and Arizona need to be undefeated in the non conference.
Most Big 12 schools have at least 1 good OOC game. Houston and Cincy have zero good games. Houston has some great OOC games starting in 2027, but not next year…
I think the three worst OOC are Houston, TTU, and Arizona. Shout out K State, too. At least Cincy has Boston college, who is p4 in name if nothing else.
I would love to see Houston cancel the Georgia Southern game and do a neutral site game with USC in Vegas.

I would love to cancel this crappy road game to Georgia Southern… and love to replace with big netural site P4 game. The GSU game is a complete waste of a game.

Obviously a home and home would be better, but where it’s just one year a neutral site game would be nice. And USC would be a home run. A very beatable blue blood.
And I think Houston should be a 10 win team next year
Biggest takeaway for me is half the league doesn’t play a true road game.

I would say half the Big 12 has 1 good non con game and the other half their non con schedule is crap. Makes it very hard for the Big 12 to get a 2nd team in the playoff. Only way would be to have two 1 loss teams.

I don’t buy into being something the Big 12 needs to fix. Those are moving targets.
ESPN wants to stuff the playoff with their favorite teams.

I was considering having a ranking system of
2 point for p4 team
1 point for away game
1 point for ranked team
-1 for FCS
But figured it’s too complicated with the portal

I will give three teams a pass.
First 2 are asu and BYU. Both have potential playoff teams on schedule.
Colorado has 2 p4 away games. But yeah. I agree
