Houston looked very solid on the penalty kicks, but Rice struggled.

Goood win.
After seeing their underwhelming performance in Florida last weekend, it was important to start with a win, and that was accomplished.
There was a clear difference when the vets (starters) were in the game vs when the redshirt freshmen (Sophomores?) came in with the new transfers. I noticed CBW seemed to make these subs throughout the game, presumably to experiment different lineups & see how well the players began to mesh.
Some of the transfers definitely made their presence known, showing their quality (ex. Miller & the LSU transfer), and winning by 5 goals shows that this team can create chances & capitalize on them.
One thing to be said is that the competition wasn’t the best challenge, so we’ll see where this team is really at with the coming games.
