2026 Swimming and Diving Milestones

"The Swimming & Diving program continued its long-term string of success in the 2025-26 season, seeing new program records in three different events, four qualifiers for the NCAA Championships and four individual championships at the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Conference Championships, marking the first individual title wins for the program.

The Cougars set three new top program records this season. Senior Virag Peter bested her own program record in the 200 breaststroke at the Big 12 Conference Championships with Alexia Duncan breaking the record in the 200 backstroke and freshman Emma Overall securing the top program time in the 1650 freestyle.

Houston sent four student-athletes to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive season with senior Virag Peter, junior Michell McLeod, sophomore Alexia Duncan and freshman Maisy Woloszyn all qualifying.

Houston finished third at the Big 12 Conference Championship and earned its first individual title since entering the league. Woloszyn took home the first title for the Cougars in the 3-meter diving competition. McLeod, Duncan and Peter also won individual titles in the platform, 100 backstroke, and 200 breaststroke, respectively.

Senior Noor El Gendy, junior Evelyn Entrekin, sophomore Caroline Roelen and McLeod were named to the CSC’s Academic All-District team for their performance in the pool and the classroom. 13 Cougars were also named to the Big 12 All-Conference teams.

McLeod captured five weekly awards from the Big 12 Conference during the season. This is the most weekly diving awards won in the conference this season and in program history.

*Under Head Coach Tanica Jamison’s leadership, the team posted 102 new personal-best times and secured 39 performances that rank among the top 10 in program history. *

Head Diving Coach Bob Gunter was named the Big 12 Diving Coach of the Year after a stellar performance from his team. He led two divers to the NCAA Championships and produced two Big 12 Conference titles. Gunter’s team placed third overall in team diving at the conference championships with Woloszyn taking home Freshman Diver of the Meet and McLeod taking home Diver of the Meet. "
