The Transfer Portal closes January 16 for most players, except for players in the Championship Game, who get an extra 5 days after the Championship Game.

The clock is ticking to enter the portal not to be picked from the portal. You can still sign a player in the portal at any time after they enter the portal. I think the signing is only because of the NIL contracts kids sign, not an LOI.
Correct. I was thinking of getting the transfers in before Spring practice, which starts around mid-March.
I really don’t think the portal means that much except to alert potentially interested coaches that you are on the market. If a guy wants to transfer he can at any time - like any other student.

I think more players use the portal to move to a school where they can get some playing time than those elite few who make a good deal of money. Some move up, some move down, as far as their chosen school is concerned…its all a process. The portal is hugely important for programs like ours. We rebuilt our defense with it in Fritz’s 1st season, then completely rebuilt our offense this year with the portal, and used all that talent we got to go 10-3. Portal is a great deal for us. and we are bringing in some more real good players this year.

I agree with you Aldine, but CWF has been noted for developing players! I think he’s doing a great job in recruiting both at the high school level in the transfer portal. How do our high school recruits move up when the transfer portal allos you to bring in experience immediately! I just think the current state of football makes it more difficult for our high school recruits.
