As always, a great press conference.
Willie is so dialed in.
A few things that stood out to me…

Willie worked the words “National Championship” into the presser 4 times.

…ya know… …there are.a lot of “contact sports”… football is a “collision sport”.

when asked what stood out about Makhi Hughes… …”he’s just a badass”.
Every answer was well thought out. No dancing around the questions. Just straight talk and a lot of common sense. The attention to detail and ownership of the entire process are just unmatched across the sport, IMO…

The press conference was fantastic. A lot of good info. I liked the info Willie gave about the OLine and how he has to be wise with spending in the portal. Biggest thing: Willie looks stoked for the upcoming season. Coach always has positive energy, but you can tell he is really excited for next season. Great sign.

I found it insightful hearing him breakdown the reasons why he gives all players (including freshmen) some snaps during spring practice to evaluate them.
Mentioned how UH is at (or near) the bottom of P4 for NIL/Revenue, so he’s going to try working hard on his end to sell more tickets.
And yes, it’s been catching my attention how determined he seems when he says he’s here to compete for a National Title…he’s clearly thinking higher than (I believe) many of us fans/alumni, and maybe even administration & donors think.
