#8 UH vs. Tulsa, 1/20 7pm CST ESPN+ (W 86-59)

beating tulsa always comes down to 1 factor… making 3s… this is how its always been with haith teams…
tulsa is not a good offense, and wins game by defense…their entire defensive game plan to clog the post, either by a zone or and using a sagged off man to man where everyone helps in the post… but both give tons of tons of open looks at the 3… missing mills 11pts isnt the deciding factor, its the fact that grimes and sasser combined for 3-17 from 3 the 1st time we played them (mostly open looks)…we cant have a cold shooting night

Hopefully they keep us in the CBS spot.

You must have not read what i sent from JD. Game for Wed btw UC/Temple is postponed.

lol i got that part, i was just saying that theyve already been in isolation for over a week today as is …and our games is not for another 5 days… that if our game with them is cancelled it means that they got some new positives during the isolation period… but whatever the initial thing that put them on pause should be cleared by our game

Which is whst JD said in his tweet.

back to back isolation periods, cincy might not play for 3-4 weeks …almost a month off with no games mid season is wild

talking strictly sports wise…as i dont wish sickness on any of our players…
but catching everyone all at once is drastically better than catching it in pieces…imagine getting out just to go back in…that cant be good from mental health or development perspective

Coogs open as -11 point favorites.

Revenge factor, playing at home plus last outing we scored pretty well on the “cursed” basket. Vegas knows.

I know past results can’t predict future performance, but it wouldn’t surprise me in this case. Last year Tulsa beat us at their place by 2 in a really crappy finish. A little over a month later they came to our place and we beat them by 33.

This year they beat us at their place by 1 in a really crappy finish and are now coming to our place. No Mills this year, but we have a MUCH improved Grimes and Sasser this time around. I think we win this one by 15+, but I hope it’s more like 30.

The toughest remaining game on our schedule, in my opinion, is at Wichita State on 2/25. Wichita State played us so well at our place, that playing at their place has me a bit worried.

Grimes, Sasser, and Gorham are all much improved.

I anticipate a double digit win.

This is very true, and very helpful. Gorham has made the loss of Hinton so much more palatable!

I normally pull for Tulsa when we aren’t plying them (my grandfather played football there)

But tomorrow I want to rag doll them.

Tulsa has majorly ticked me off this year. This is by far the best chance we’ve ever had to run the table and Tulsa screwed it up. We’re likely sitting #4 or #5 and staring down a #1 seed right now if that hadn’t happened.
