A New Disturbance in the Force

Of course the natural retort is if you look at it on per capita basis , we be fine. By that
measure we are 13th :frowning:

Diesel prices aren’t coming down anytime soon.

One clarification, that’s state plus county, not just county. Those two cities add a city rate to it too.

That said, I’m at 10% in NOLA which is also steep. It’s 8.25% in Houston which also isn’t low but obviously better than the others above.

I’ve read some things that these diesel prices may be with us for at least a year now. That’s scary if true. With heating oil
demand coming into the seasonal picture soon, can only hope for a mild winter.

If not mistaken, you have a 3% state income tax too now ? Hope Xon made you whole with the transfer .

Yep, but property taxes are a lot lower. Overall cost of living is higher though.

They didn’t keep me whole, but I came out ahead.

“Texas added a bunch of batteries to the grid and now it’s so reliable that it doesn’t have huge price swings like it used to just a few years ago. This is one of the ways to practically beat global warming in the sense that new technology is allowing us to weather the heat.”

We added a bunch of solar and wind, too.

Debated putting this here or in the Iran war thread. Trucking has been having a hard time
for years it seems.

Recent research has pointed to a spike in sector layoffs and trucking bankruptcies, with the supply chain-focused publication FreightWaves finding 16 firms entered bankruptcy proceedings between late August and September 21.

I like to follow electricity generation data, but I’ve never seen its impact graphed like this before. Very encouraging.

I’d like to hear how the green hoax believers
see this data and respond.
