A little more on the housing side of things. A little birdy told me that a local real estate company in town will finish the month with 8 homes sold. Last month they sold 50. Maybe back to school maybe not, we will see.
Probably a little of both. This is a traditional slow time coming off a busier time for sales.
That said, clearly other issues are also at play.
Nope, it was the eviction moratorium that people took advantage of.
We have had shootings, and deaths, in both Houston and Tucson last week as Constables served eviction notices.
The 2020 moratorium on evictions set the stage for this. Created a long-simmering boiler that would spill over.
Right or wrong the Covid policies created this situation.
The forbearance certainly played a part. Just like hotel rooms, the landlords are trying recoup their losses by upping rents.
Hmmmm… a sign?

Man, that must be record for a cloud
Its a joke, lighten up francis, lol.
I get it. Just saying it’s definitely not a sign.
Maybe the 2 yr & 5 year treasury are higher than the 30 year is a sign of the bear
That is, yes.
CNBC had Kyle Bass on for two segments. One on China and one on O & G. Very solid conversations. Dropped Churchill’s “Gathering Storm” on China.
They didn’t post his segment on O&G. Couple of nuggets, he confirmed my observation that civil unrest will erupt in developed countries over energy. He said that he expects demand to rise 50% for O&G over the next 30 years and the investment world in pricing producer stocks wrongly.
He said the high price of LNG will decline “into the 4’s” over time but demand will price out the poorer countries. This will cause the starvation and death of the children of Africa. Looked at mini-nuclear plants as something that needs to be constructed rapidly. Pity, they didn’t post that segment
I saw mention that Taiwan intends to shoot down Chinese drones which have been in Taiwan’s airspace. Could get crazy in a hurry. Let’s hope this simmers down. Both countries are big trading partners.

We go to war with China, it will require full national mobilization, I don’t believe the American people are ready for the consequences. Xi is preparing his people for war. Best war is the one that is not fought. both sides and the world would never be the same if conflict breaks out between U.S. and China. U.S. needs to make CCP in someway back away from the forceful reunification they keep talking about and make them stick to the communiques established in opening relationship with China of peaceful reunification with Taiwan The CCP just published a white paper saying they want peaceful unification, but reserve the right to use force. Their mindset needs to change on the latter aspect.

More conflicting data. Sentiment data up. I think this was pre Fed announcements of serving up pain for all.

They may be confident but…
Interesting thing about paper tags on cars. I’ve been noticing some that are expired on cars driving around. It means they haven’t made payments to be able to secure a title.
