So basically they sucked bad enough to tank their metrics but will still probably be good enough to knock off some of the teams in the upper half of the league which will then tank those teams metics. That hurts.
I watched some of their game earlier against Hofstra â honestly iâm just glad tyler found a landing spot after the way penny just tossed him out. Dirty move there.
I think smu is dead last in metrics right now in aac but i ainât looked in a week or so i could be wrong. Wtf happened there.
I guess but technically this is his 4th team in 4 years. Plus, he didnât pay attention enough his first go round to see what a circus Penny was running?
SMU at 4-7. Rough.
They beat Iona yesterday who was #43 NET.
Good win for the Ponies. Q1
They beat Utah state and will play in the championship game against Hawaii on 25th.
smu had 2 chances to put hawaii away at the ft line (hawaii fumbled the ball out of bounds after the 1st one, )⊠smu missed all the fts
smu losses on last second hail mary 3sâŠwas up double digits on a good hawaii majority of the game
SMU is a messâŠ
Mess. Not. They have a new coach. They played well. Check this kid Phelps. If he plays like he did in the Hawaii tournament, I will be surprised if he is not first team conference.
Give me Sasser, Kendric Davis and DeAndre Williams for 1st team AAC
Phelps whose averaging about 20ppg, certainly has a shot at 1st team AAC
Other options:
*Tyler Harris- 15.5ppg USF
*Khalif Battle - 18.7ppg Temple
*Damian Dunn - 14.7 ppg Temple
*David DeJulius- 16.6ppg Cincy
*Landers Nolley - 14.5ppg Cincy
*Jalen Cook - 20.2 ppg Tulane
*Jaylen Forbes - 16.8ppg Tulane
*Kevin Cross - 14.2ppg Tulane
*Javon Small - 17.2ppg East Carolina
*Taylor Hendricks - 15.3ppg UCF
*Zach Nutall - 14.2 ppg SMU
We can certainly get another player on 1st team AAC. But right now our #2 scorer is fluctuating game to game. Some games its Jarace, then Roberts, then Mark.
Youâre not going be 1st team AAC averaging 10ppg. We have 3 players averaging that
smus record is too bad to be 1st teamâŠ
sasser, kendric are locksâŠonly injury will prevent them
then its up in the airâ
if it was today (and how they look)
- david dejulius is a locks (17 per on in great efficiency on a 9-4 team)- cincy schedule is kinda soft, so there are questions if he can sustain it
- khalif battle is comfortably in "today* 19 per, and wins over vill, rutgers and vcu)⊠note temples center is injured and temple looks really realy bad without him⊠if they contimue to spiral he will be out
javin small for ecu is in if it was voted today, 17pt on good efficency, and ecuâs win on toledo and south carolina are some of the better wins in the league⊠i dont think ecu can sustain its suscess⊠they are super small, and been lucky to play small teams, even a very good toledo is small
jalen cook isnt in it right now but i expect him to be in it by seasons end (missed a ton of games to injury)
i don think deandre is in right now⊠but will have a great chance by seasons end
Taylor Hendricks is in depending on how ucf does⊠ucf is a nit/low tourney team theyll be in on â;some one from the good teams have to be addedâ
It seems that some folks are conflating âscoring leaderâ with âall conference.â
Well looking at last year, out of the 11 players on 1st or 2nd team, 10 of them were on a team ranked 5th or higher in conference (Houston, Memphis, SMU, Temple, Tulane)
Its winning plus putting up stats during AAC play
How many times have we had 2 Coogs finish 1st team AAC in the same season? only 2 times. Last year (Fabian & Carlton) and 2016-17 year (Dotson & Gray)
Shead is under-rated⊠he is team MVP!
Will not be our problem after July. Big things on the horizon.
