Ugly game as it ended up 14-3 ECU in the end. Strange that either UCF or Tulane will be gone before our next game.
Other than that, the other 3 higher seeds won. Memphis-CIncy at 8am and Tulane-UCF at 11am tomorrow.

cinci decided they’d like to stay in florida. 5 run 7th puts them up 14-8 in the top of the 7th.
And UCF-Tulane was just postponed until tomorrow morning.

They’re not going to finish the Cincy-Memphis game at this rate. Memphis has scored 3 in B7 to get it to 14-11, and they’re still hitting. Pitching change for Cincy.
Wild ending to this thing: B9, Memphis still down 14-11, but have the bases loaded with one out. Just missed a homer that would have tied it, but it hit off the wall for a long single with no one scoring as the runners thought they may have to tag.

Feel for Cincy a bit. Coach quits on them before the tourney and then they go 2 and out, including losing like they did today. Long offseason starting there.
Where did their coach go?
Gave the nebulous “resigned for personal reasons”. If he was forced out that’s a little odd given he’s done much better than his predecessors. Cincy hasn’t made the NCAAs since 1974 and is fighting an uphill battle to compete with the warmer weather teams in this league. That underscores what a remarkable job UConn’s coaching staff does year round.

Tomorrow, UCONN-Memphis and the two Florida teams go at it with 2 more being eliminated.

UConn is playing very well right now and I expect a battle Saturday…maybe two battles.
Regardless, I never thought the other side of the bracket was any better than ours. ECU only has to win one of two Saturday to clinch a spot in the title game…

UCONN’s pitching, their strength, is going to be taxed heading into Saturday, so we need to capitalize early.
