Over the years, we outsourced our first level and customer support to
other countries like Kuala Lumpur, Philippines, India, etc. I wonder if those
countries will be the first to feel the impact or if high dollar US customer service desks will be first to be hit hard.
I don’t think that’s the right way of looking at it.
In the long run, it’s going to be cheaper to outsource jobs than to replace them with AI.
I don’t know if it shocks me or not that the companies who are planning to adopt AI into their balance sheets seem to just ignore the actual costs it takes to run AI models (this also completely disregards the environmental effects associated with data center emissions). Of course, many of these same companies are banking on being bought and/or sold before s**t hits the fan
Our economic system will eventually have to pay for emissions - yet we just keep chugging along as if it is not a problem
Yet those outsourced job are from third world countries that pollute the most. But you’re ok with that?
