Anthony Richardson is a better NFL QB Prospect than Bryce Young?

…Once upon a time there was a lanky player.
…Once upon a time there was a grocery bagger.
…Once upon a time there was an undrafted player.
You get the point we could all add to:
Tom Brady
Kurt Warner
Case keenum
Each of these three QB’s created life long, historical moments.
NONE of these three players was on the radar screen of the most accomplished NFL recruiters.
I have always believed in a mix of talents with an amazing will to succeed.
I am the Texans G.M.?
i trade my pick to the highest bidder. This is a rebuild. One thing I am nit pervy is the Texans accounting book. I am too lazy to look it us. Buying a championsip like the Rams is always possible but at the end of the day you gotta have CAPABLE recruiting personnel.

Chris, I agree. What I would do is trade the #2 pick for another upper 1st round and maybe a 2nd and 3rd or maybe even two 1st round picks and another lower round. I would trade my upper 1st round for a lower 1st and maybe 2nd or 3rd. I would keep doing that until I had 1 and maybe 2 middle to low 1st rounders plus a stock of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rounders. With those, I would build out my OL and receiver corps and whatever else I would need for the defense. I would try to get a good – not necessarily great franchise type – QB that could guide us for the near future as we continue to build into a team that could compete for the Super Bowl and championship. Garoppolo would be a good candidate for that spot.

I’m leery of the high 1st round QBs that don’t pan out more than they do.

Will Anderson at #2 and Richardson or Stroud at #12.

No offense, we’re UH fans and all and love Keenum but one of those three don’t belong.

You missed the point all together. All Houston radio pundits including m.thomas said Case Keenum had no chance in the NFL.
He was undrafted.
Where is he today?
He has been in the NFL for 10 seasons.
He took the Vikings to the NFC Championship.
How many thought, how many so called experts thought we would even be writing about Cae today?
Tom Brady was almost on the verge of not being drafted. He is the G.O.A.T.
Kurt Warner was working in a grocery store because 99.999% so called QB experts thought he would not be any good.

I haven’t seen Will Levis play much so I watched his highlights. I thought his game and size is similar to Tune. I noticed on his highlights that his pocket was usually clean and did not have to throw off script much. I think Tune has a lot of value in the draft where the position is very hard to project and you can get someone like Tune in the 2-4 rounds. He has height, can make throws, and avoid pressure.

I am a fan of drafting the oline high and would love for the Texans to take one of the top centers.

True. The other two are Hall of Fame multiple time Super Bowl appearance/winners!!!

I saw an article that had the Texans swap picks with the Bears for #s 1 & 2 and the Texans take QB Bryce Young and still hold on to their #13 pick and take WR Jordan Addison. We know Brandin Cooks wants to be traded so that portion makes sense. My concern with Young is his durability. QBs Stroud and Levis, are good prospects, but not sure things, which is my criteria for a 1 or 2 pick.

Give the Bears the #2 overall pick, next year’s 1st round pick, and Brandin Cooks for this year’s 1st overall pick! I think the Bears just might take it! Brandin Cooks wanted out from the Texans for a long time anyway! Not much to lose except a 1st round pick next year. There are pundits that think the Texans and Colts would probably have to give up a couple of 1st round picks and a couple of 2nd round picks just to move 1-3 spots up to get Bryce Young, which is nuts! Especially when the Texans could have had the 1st overall pick if they would simply lose that stupid. worthless, meaningless game against the Colts at the end of the season! And Funkmeister thinks the Texans did the right thing by winning that stupid game! God help us!

None of the QBs are slam dunks. I’d look to trade back and grab more talent

I wouldn’t trade any picks for more picks. It would be better for the franchise not to select a QB at #2. Instead, sign Garofalo or Carr for two years and use the picks to strengthen the roster. At this point, the Texans need far more than Young or Stroud.

I think they could parlay the #2 pick into a couple of 1st round picks plus a player and depending on how high the 1st round picks are they could move one of them for a lower 1st round and a 2nd round. They already have the #12 pick so the could end up with 3 1st round picks, a 2nd round pick (or 2) and maybe a couple of players. A team could get well in several areas with that much 1st and 2nd round draft capital. Plus there are a lot of good players in the middle and lower rounds.

The last thing we need is a good rookie QB ruined because he has no protection or supporting cast. The defense needs help as well. I would love to have a Garoppolo, Carr, or other good veteran QB to carry us until we may get that franchise guy we are looking for. Heck, maybe with the right cast, one of them could be the franchise QB.

I see the logic in trading down for more picks. If the Texans could stay in the top 5 and parlay another first round pick inside the 20th, that would give the Texans three picks in the first round. I would seriously consider making that trade. I would hope that 5 years down the road, 2 of the 3 first round picks were all-pros at some point.

The Texans have too many holes to fill with the current team.
