AP Top 25: UH is #2 for Week of March 17th - Final AP Regular Season Poll

Knew that would happen with Florida winning and Duke losing….figured we would drop 1-2 spots.

No biggie….

And honestly we did not play well this week.

Sharp hopefully is healthy….but the rest of the team needs to get going.

We have got to establish some flow on the offensive end or this season will end like the last two.

Arizona is a top ten team but like Jesse said, a couple of early losses had them digging out of a hole.

I would rather play Iowa State than Zona right now.

That Zona game on the road feels like a HUGE game with bragging rights attached to it. I am not sure why we are defending the historical Big 12 but that is what it feels like.

Right where they should be. No complaints there. The Top 5 teams all have 3 losses or less for season. Than there’s Tenn & Houston with 4.
All good.

Any idea when the committee puts out their top 16?

I feel like it’s got to be soon.

Initial Top 16 will be revealed on Sat - Feb 15 @ 11:30 – CBS

Edit: if UH can win tonight they will fall into the 2 Seed line most likely.

Looking at the polls, even though we dropped a slot, we actually have more points than we did last week.

I’m more interested n where the NCAA has us slotted this week.

But, if you’re looking for something to hang your hat on, this is the 100th consecutive week we have been ranked. This is currently the longest streak in the country and the 17th longest all time.

going into today we are 3rd in net and 10th in the new “wins above bubble” metric so anywhere from 6th to 9th on the s-curve seems reasonable depending on how things go this week

Just realize the tournament is S-curve-ish.

They try to keep seeded teams closest to their home. We are probably slotted to go through Wichita. A$M will probably follow us to Wichita. Where seeding comes in play nationally is where we go for the regional.

Alabama and Auburn are both looking at Lexington for their sub-regionals and then off to different regional sites, most likely Indianapolis and Atlanta.

For us to reach the one line, it will more than likely be as the fourth #1. That would send us through Wichita to San Francisco.

Shoot forgot to comment that we made it 100 consecutive weeks ranked! Major milestone for our Coogs. Ties Arizona (2013-18) for 17th all time. Truly an elite run we’re on.

Just 100 more appearances and we’ll tie Duke for the 3rd longest streak! Lol

When was the last time we weren’t ranked?

I am assuming the streak is based on weeks that an AP poll is issued. You don’t get credit for the offseason.

I’m old enough to remember when just getting ranked was a huge deal for us. Ahh, how times have changed for the better. Thank you CKS and to all the players for this awesome run. Please let us end up with the ultimate prize at last. Enjoy these times Coogs because many of are old enough to remember the 30 years in the wilderness.

Amen. We have had better individual players. We have had better teams. We have never had the program be this good for this long.

The last poll we weren’t ranked in came out 1/13/2020. This would be our fifth straight season staying ranked wire to wire barring a major collapse.

That is astonishing.

I am sure the record is held by UCLA but do you happen to know what the record is?

I saw one message board that says that UCLA has the record at 221.

Kansas, at one point, also had a very long streak; almost 200 I think.
