Houston Astros 2023 Season on a daily roll

Some people on here must get furious at extra innings

They should implement time limits on each inning.

Do managers have a limit on how long they can kick dirt on an umpire?

Should be 3 kicks max. Anything more will cost you a time-out per kick.

They have really dropped the standards of what passes for “strong showing”.

Couple of tidbits……

Blanco is getting stretched out……threw 3.1 IP against Red Sox today….a few hits, no runs or walks and 5 K’s.

Yainer had a single earlier that had a 110 mph exit velocity.

Arrighetti pitched 3 scoreless as well……look for him to be a fast riser……he’s got some serious sh1t.

Local sports talk host recently stated Blanco is the pitching version of Yordan Alvarez in terms of size and power.

That is 1000% a hot take.

Not you Goose, but them.

He is 6’0 180 lbs.

29 years old with a 7.11 ERA( mlb, small sample)last year….

Nobody would know his name if Lance was not hurt and Brown had not struggled.

I could see Arrighetti getting pushed this year….pitched mainly in high A but was promoted to CC late in year.

Between the two he three 107 IP and had 152 k’s.

Still only 21……He was drafted in 6th round.

I guarantee you had he been picked in the first round and put up the exact same numbers, with the stuff he has, he would be on several top 100 lists.

Yainer and Dirden continue doing well.

Pena went 3 for 3 with two bombs just back from the WBC.

And Hunter Brown pitched well giving up 3 hits and a single run in 4 IP.

I think Dirden has a chance to make the opening day roster, with Brantley and Yordan’s progression in the spring currently slow.

Altuve hit by pitch on his hand/ fingers…exits game. We don’t need this to happen so close to the season opening day.

Announcers in the 8th said might of broke his thumb
