Attendance

I brought my son last night. And was pleasantly surprised with the turnout. My wife and I used to have season tickets and never missed a game. That was before kids. Has gotten a little harder since they were born. My son is 4 and is starting to take an interest, so we may be reinvesting in season tickets moving forward.

He woke up this morning and said the game last night was the best game ever.

I was surprised by how many rice students were there. I saw older rice folks but there was more rice students than I’ve seen in a long time. More than 100 rice fans were there.

Plus more uh students and they overflowed into my section and had to move out of my seats

Lots of empty seats inside the lower bowl on the north side of the stadium but the students did show up in force.

Students from rice and uh want to have fun. Hopefully our respective football programs can give them that fun.

If there were more than 100 Rice fans there last night, then there were 101. They were few and far between.

There were definitely more than 100 Rice fans.

Way more than 100 rice fans, some of the visitor sections in the 200s were basically full. Rice fans also bought up a good portion of 100 level sections tickets near their allotment.

I would venture to guess they brought as much as 1,000 fans to TDECU.

Pretty good for Rice fan base.

Never understood why they only bring a small fraction of their home attendance to road games at TDECU. It’s a ten minute drive.

I noticed they had a shuttle bus taking kids from their campus to ours.

The front row of midfield 200s weren’t even half full.

You are correct and I am correct too.

For the first part of the game I was sitting in the front row of section 127 chairbacks since that section had unsold seats and it was empty.

I saw a lot of rice students near sec 125. It was more than in yrs past.

It was a good atmosphere.

Rice bussed them over to the third ward.

Rice also organized a tailgate to get fans to come over.

Probably because they don’t have a car.

What is their motto?

"Stay in the bushes "

I think a good majority of their students are out of state so they are not familiar with the importance of the Bayou Bucket.

UH fans didn’t attend the Rice game last year either. It’s baffling.

I was at the game in 2023 and we brought over at least 6,000.

I was at that game, and I don’t remember it, because I was pretty much blacked out before kickoff (I was a Junior at the time so cut me some slack)

It’s one of my biggest regrets lol
