AC bumped from 86 to 88. Now the #37th ranked QB in the nation by 247. Top 75 player in Texas. Again this was no slouch of a pick. What a find by Fritz’s. My hot take is that AC will play himself into a 4 star by one of the major outlets after his senior year (not becoming a hot take anymore). He is now 88 by 247(2 pts away) and an 79 (1 pt away).
AC is good Henderson insurance. He’s close to Greg Ward Jr than Case tho. Elite athlete that can win you games.
You may be right, but as of today it seems that AC has had significantly more success at QB. Just don’t write him off is all I’m saying.
Go Coogs!
For sure. Wasn’t trying to write him off. I was highlighting his playmaking ability; the stuff Case couldn’t do at QB even if he tried his hardest.
Told yall don’t sleep on Austin. 4 star incoming
The Bryant kid is going to be very good at UH.
Very impressed with the kid
Yep he was impressive
Case used to be a fast runner at QB early in his career, before Dana came and coached him to stay in the pocket.
So who won the game?
Fulshear 49-41.
Carlisle played an amazing game in a losing effort, both running and throwing the ball to great effect.
But Fulshear’s 1950s style two tight end, full house backfield, ground and pound game eventually wore down RP’s defense.
I live on the border of Katy and Fulshear, so I cheer for both Katy Jordan (my local neighborhood school), and Fulshear (the next closest school) in HS sports.
True but Blake Joseph was known as the runner during their QB battle at UH.
Not that I recall.
Joseph had a cannon for an arm. Had trouble with touch passes. I don’t remember him running much.
Case earned a nickname when he first got here. I think it was “Sweet Feet.” Case was a very good runner who was too quick to run. Coaching him to stay in the pocket was probably one of the reasons he made the NFL and has stuck. IMO.
That’s how I remember it too.
Blake wasn’t known as a runner. Case had much better wheels until the injury at UCLA
Blake was atheletic, he tried to get on the field as a H-back after he lost the QB gig to Case. Not fast though.
I don’t ever remember Blake being known as a runner. He was known for his cannon arm.
Even from 5 feet away.
Joseph’s UH career stats:
Passing: 1581 yds; 13.85 avg; 10 TD; 5 Ints.
Rushing: 217 yds; 2.7 avg.
Receiving: 12 yds; 3 receptions; 4.0 avg.
Joseph was known for having a bigger arm from the outset.
Well i remember the only reason Blake Joseph won out intially was because he was more athletic and possibly faster than Case. But we all knew in Coogfans that Case was the better processor and passer when they had their QB battle and it went to Joseph before he failed.
If Case was so fast and athletic at 6-1 with his football IQ im sure he would of not been ranked so low as a 2 star. And then gone undrafted after breaking passing records at UH. We know the first thing evaluators look at is size, speed & athleticism (physical tools).
