Aziz Olajuwon Edit- We offered

As for Aziz, it’d be great to have him IF Coach Sampson feels that he is good enough, a good fit for our system, and offers him on that basis.

That’s been my take away as well. Every time his name is mentioned, I can only can think of the lone Memphis game he had some success. Aside from that game the dude was lost out there.

If any body is interested on the top local talent I found the updated rankings for the 2026, 2027 & 2028 high school classes. This website belongs to Marcus Sloan an area scout who play his college ball at TCU.

2026 Is lead by Christian Gibson & Aziz Olajuwon.
2027 Reese Alston has a strong hold at #1 and may be the top area player regardless of class right now.
2028 This class has a long ways to go before graduation so expect quite a bit of movement at the top. But the Hill kid sounds like a stud.

Extra notes: Glad to see Beaumont United having a couple of nice prospects in these lists. Aziz Olajuwon has a younger brother who is talented on his own right and plays in Episcopal. Chase Richardson from class of 2027 is like a show by himself from Friendswood. They called him “white chocolate” and our coaching staff saw him play recently since they were watching Reese in the same gym. Thanks to @PAinsworth512 on that one.

CO 2028 Maverick Curl-Okafor is a triple legacy. His dad is Patrick Okafor and his mom is Angela Curl who played for UH and her dad was former women’s coach and amazing guy Joe Curl.

Don’t forget CO 2027 Isaiah Santos who the staff offered a few months back as well.

Madden Hill the #1 in c/o of 2028 is a stud. Insane hops but not just an athlete, good IQ too. He could play multiple sports at the D1 level if he wanted. Good family.

JD Humphries is a double reclass. I’d be shocked if he’s rated this high in a couple years.

Double reclass as in hes supposed to be 2026 or is he supposes to be 2028?

The good news is that Madden trains with Melvin Harralson, who is very pro UH. The bad news is that he’s in John Lucas’ camp and his dad played football at UT . That said, I’ll take our chances.

Interesting that Beaumont keeps its talent in the city and away from privates but Houston kids you better have a good car to find them as there’s nothing listed in the loop anymore sadly

Beaumont kids stay in town because they don’t have a choice for the most part UNLESS the parents have the means to go to Silsbee, Port Neches or Hamshire-Fannett.

He should be graduating next year. He’s a Senior masquerading as a Sophomore.

Imagine if Aziz was the same height as dad with the skills he has….one and done.

What is his age? You cannot compete above your age level in UIL….not possible unless he is age appropriate.

I am guessing that the Beaumont public schools rarely lose “jocks” to Kelly either, right?

Didn’t realize he is still around the game.

That’s good as Kelley never wavered from its mission and the small towns nearby aren’t exactly welcoming people with open arms as they like it homegrown :joy: a jasper person ain’t hanging with the silsbee guy

But in this age of charters and everything else designed to make money off athletics I applaud Beaumont for keeping its talent at home

Somehow port Arthur lost talent but Beaumont held on and you have community pride

I don’t think that rule exists anymore. Tons of kids reclass in basketball nowadays.

It is. He would not be able to play his senior year.

Kelly has almost always been hot garbage for a reason. Almost every public school kid goes there if they can’t crack the varsity lineup.
