Basketball Bluebloods?

We got the better PG DJ Thomas…

Their homecourt advantage is impressive, though…

I think if you have had a huge impact on the game it makes you a blue blood. Things like sending great players to the nba, winning coaches, huge games with lasting implications, records. Just an overall effect and winning reputation. You can effect the game without winning a championship. Perfect example is the Houston Cougars. The veer, run and shoot, end zone dance, Phi Slama Jama, game of the century, playing in the Dome, a qb who holds all the passing records, we even won gameday with the Heisman kid. That’s alot of influence.

While I agree with you that UH has had major influences on NCAA Football, basketball, golf and track throughout its history we are still not considered a blue blood in any sport except maybe golf because at the end of the day blue bloods are programs that are expected to win championships due to their history of winnimg many national championships.

UH Basketball is expected to be a top program in the country every year right now but we’re not expected to win it every year like Duke fans expect or even Florida fans expect…

I would have to include UConn as a blueblood in basketball. 6 NC’s since 1999 is really impressive!

cougars could be considered a new bllod but not a blue blood, they are too inconsistent. its not too many years ago when the cougars could not even make the nit and had to settle for a third play post season tournament.
if this run outlives cks’s tenture, then you could consider them blue bloods, maybe.

We are an elite program and today’s HS seniors have known nothing but UH as a tournament team since the 4th grade.

You guys have fun trying to define what a blue blood is.
