I’m not convinced that he’s a good fit there, but Baylor hired a hell of a coach.

Question is the contacts in Texas but he’s a great coach. He can hire a bunch of assistants that know Texas just like Tom did and our next coach will. Very good hire for Baylor. Better than Anderson at Arky State or Fleck.
Very hard for the AAC commish to push this P6 idea to the networks and the public if his best coaches are leaving for P5 jobs.
To be fair, “the networks” are the very reason that’s happening.
That’s way more coach than Baylor deserves.
He’ll have some time to turn it around there. Worried about who he grabs as recruiters and, with only one commit, you know he’ll come after our guys hard.
Can you elaborate
Networks created the P5/G5 situation, and networks perpetuate that divide by dictating television revenue and generally perpetuating the idea that the G5 schools are generally inferior. Without the revenue, P5 schools will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to hiring and retaining top coaching staffs.
If any of our commits would rather play for a power conference doormat, then good luck to them.
Come to UH to win alot of ball games. Go to baylor to fight for bowl eligibility.
Am I missing something here? When is the NCAA going to drop the hammer on Baylor for “lack of institutional control?” Is it because of the pending lawsuits? If so, why would any coach go near Baylor?
Rhule is a Penn St guy and I’m assuming he stayed at Temple last year hoping the PSU job would be open end of this season but Franklin turned it around and had a good season.
I think maybe the NCAA isn’t going to do anything. Since much of the sanctions they put on Penn State were later removed, they might think it is a wasted effort.
That…actually makes a lot of sense.
NCAA really doesn’t have jurisdiction in this case; didn’t in the Penn State Case either. Title IX is a Department of Education issue.
They are investigating potential recruiting violations in regards to Kendall Briles, but those are minor.
This is very classy of Rhule. It reminds me of when Gary Kubiak took out a full-page ad in the Houston Chronicle when he was let go from the Texans.
Much better than an iPhone notepad message.
That would have been a good move by CTH.
It sure would have, unfortunately he nor his agent thought it would matter. Although Coogfans would have torn it to shreds anyways.
Matt Ruhle >>>>> Tom Herman
Just watched CMR during the Motel 6 Bowl. Wow…that guy is serious class. The anti-Tom Herman. Said he would not be contacting anyone he recruited at Temple. Seems like a great guy. Too bad he’s going to be associated with Baylor.
I sure was about to type that. I had to rewind it on my TV and record it to my phone. He said it’s not morally right nor ethical. Kudos to him!
