I used to always go to the Monument Inn on the Houston Ship Channel for gumbo; they had the best in town, in my opinion; and then they changed the recipe to include chicken and sausage - ruined it as far as I am concerned!
I like Fisherman’s Wharf in Galveston. Good food, friendly waiters, and great location! Fantastic sunsets and reflections in the water on some days.
