If Kansas State opts out of bowl, the 5-7 teams, based on 2020-24 multi-year APR rankings, an NCAA source told @On3sports , is in order Rice, Auburn, UCF, Miss St & Florida St. These rankings aren’t publicly available. @RedditCFB & others have reported incorrect lists of APR teams

Looks like with KSU out it will take a little help for UCF/Big XII to backfill that bowl spot.

I’m not very productive today, so I am going to share my thoughts on what BYU needs to do to win.

1. Limit turnovers and win the turnover battle. BYU was -3 last game.

2. Win the offensive line — BYU has a healthy running back and a healthy back up. They had neither last game. Last game Martin had 10 carries because he was hurt. Between LJ, Moa, and Bachmeier it wouldn’t surprise me if BYU has 45-50 carries.

3. Special teams — just be average. Last game had miffed punts, bad holds, missed field goals, bad punts.

4. Defense — do your thing without the sloppy play from the offense and special teams the defense holds Tech. BYU’s defense had 5 drives where they held tech to negative yardage. Tech had three drives where they moved less than 11 yards and got points.
