Depends on how good the rest of the conference is. If a conference has 2-4 elite teams, and a whole host of bottom feeders, I’m not sure that that constitutes “depth.”
If, on the other hand, a conference has only one elite team, but NO dogs, arguably it’s deeper based on its overall parity and level of play.
Example : in 2015 the AAC had a top 10 team and a 2 loss ranked team. They had a couple more 9 and 10 win teams. Half the conference had a losing record. I’d say the top 3rd was solid to elite, but no depth.
That’s so stupid. Lol Big 12 teams have done well against those teams in the past. All of this is just biased perception of certain brands. You say these things like it’s certain how all of this will play out.
I hear you Aldine. I’m not budging off my prediction of a 2-10 season, but circumstances have forced me to predict a conference upset — most likely Baylor.
Tier 1 are my “contenders” after week 1, Arizona’s defense didn’t look great, thus them being in tier 2, but you could convince me to put them in tier 1.
I think tiers 1 to 3 are pretty good and wouldn’t be surprised if any of those teams end up in the top third in the end.
