BIG 12 FOOTBALL & HOUSTON PREDICTIONS

Depends on how good the rest of the conference is. If a conference has 2-4 elite teams, and a whole host of bottom feeders, I’m not sure that that constitutes “depth.”

If, on the other hand, a conference has only one elite team, but NO dogs, arguably it’s deeper based on its overall parity and level of play.

The CFP is mainly for viewership first competition second

Example : in 2015 the AAC had a top 10 team and a 2 loss ranked team. They had a couple more 9 and 10 win teams. Half the conference had a losing record. I’d say the top 3rd was solid to elite, but no depth.

Good example!

Memphis, Navy, UH, Temple were all ranked at some point that year
Crazy

Yes…but the SEC and B1G are predicted to have 4-5 playoff squads

For the SEC thats almost 1/3 of its conference Playoff bid worrhy

That was a crazy time I believe we were 6-0 against ranked teams in 2015 and 2016.

Coaching makes a huge difference. Hopefully Fritz will instill a winning culture and mindset and have us back on the winning track quickly.

We are building to a B1G and SEC backlash for getting too many conference members in the playoffs.

There could be 4 or 5 9 win type teams that basically beat up on each other to make this a one bid league.

Yet, SEC teams that beat up on each other would be ok?

You know the SEC is the media darlings they always get overranked and with OU and UT gone the Big XII is viewed as a lesser league now.

Which is stupid because ut hadn’t won a conference championship in what, a decade? They finally won last season when the Big 12 had a down season.

It ALL depends on how the P4 Conferences do in OOC games vs other P4 Conferences.

If the Big 12 dominates SEC, B1G & ACC opponents, then we have a case for depth

That’s so stupid. Lol Big 12 teams have done well against those teams in the past. All of this is just biased perception of certain brands. You say these things like it’s certain how all of this will play out.

I hear you Aldine. I’m not budging off my prediction of a 2-10 season, but circumstances have forced me to predict a conference upset — most likely Baylor.

Obviously!

Unless we improve and actually block someone…yes there is

How are you feeling about it now? This is where I am at, I think.

Tier 1 - Oklahoma St, Kansas, Kansas St, Utah
Tier 2 - Arizona, Iowa St, WVU, TCU,
Tier 3 - UCF, BYU, Az St, Baylor
Tier 4 - Cincy, Tech, Colorado, UH

Tier 1 are my “contenders” after week 1, Arizona’s defense didn’t look great, thus them being in tier 2, but you could convince me to put them in tier 1.

I think tiers 1 to 3 are pretty good and wouldn’t be surprised if any of those teams end up in the top third in the end.

Tier 4 is just… not good.

We really need you guys to BUTT SPANK SMU this weekend.
