When the walking dead craze was at its peak id hear all kinds of fans of that show yap things like “id be Rick Grimes”…id laugh and tell them, “youd be food” LOL
I thought hillbillies stayed put. Did these hillbillies who live in different states get kicked out of the family unit or moved for better benefits?
Its usually an employment issue.

Four ACC teams vote against Cal and Stanford: What’s next for the conference? - YouTube
Surprisingly NC St. voted “no.”
While I get that Clemson, Florida St. and NC want to leave and are not interested in saving or strengthening the ACC, NC St. is a surprise (unless they are actually delusional enough to think they won’t actually be left behind by NC once the ACC goes the way of the PAC).
That’s exactly what it is…
If the big 3 bolt for the SEC/B1G, then NC State sure as hell doesn’t want to get left out.
Adding Stanford and Cal are just more teams that will have voting power to stabilize the ACC.
All the ACC teams not named Clemson, FSU and UNC are panicking right now.
I don’t think NC State gets relegated. UH views them as a peer institution when it comes to ‘simliarity’, so they’ll probably want them in the B12 when the time comes (15 schools, 10 spots).
I’d see BC, Wake Forest, Syracuse, and Duke get relegated. ND probably remains independent unless one team gets kicked from the B1G LMAO.
NC State, Virginia Tech, Pitt, Louisville to B12
UVA, UNC to B1G
Miami, FSU, GT, Clemson to SEC. Maybe swap a florida and georgia school to the B12, throw out Louisville. NC State if they really want to relegate them out. I’d see GT (National Lab partnerships with UH) and Miami or FSU (if they dont wanna deal with the UF) coming to the B12.
Imagine the shakeup that happens if each conference goes to 18 only. More teams would get relegated.
I think everyone is making assumptions when we really don’t know where this is all headed. We don’t know that B1G/SEC want to expand to 20+ teams.
That being said…
-
ESPN already has the northern Florida market with University of Florida, so they’re not going to be so quick to want to add FSU. If FSU gets AAU membership soon, then there’s a good chance that FSU would fit in the B1G. ESPN doesn’t want to pay double for FSU, so it’s in ESPN’s interest to either help the ACC stay alive or convince the SEC to turn them down.
-
Clemson is easily an SEC fit. No questions.
-
UNC is the odd one because they’re academically fit for the B1G, but it’s uncertain as to their legal ties with NC State which will definitely cause issues come next realignment.
-
Everyone keeps saying the Big 12 should and/or will get Louisville, Pitt, V-Tech, and 1 other team from the ACC. Why? We already have West Virginia and UCF. I think we should stop at 18 and take the best 2 teams we can possibly get.
Yes, relegation will happen to the ACC just like it did with the remaining PAC4 teams. UH, UCF, Cincy and BYU got INCREDIBLY lucky that OU/UT left as well as joining a conference that has stability. Coastal conferences are no longer profitable. The core of a profitable conference has to be inland with additional coastal teams to merely supplement markets
Landing North Carolina State would be an epic add for the Big 12!
It was something the marketing and branding team stated in a meeting around last year. NC State is a peer or similar institution when it comes to graduate studies ![]()
NC State is part of the UNC system. I’m not saying they cannot be split. It may be the case that the UNC Board could direct its member institution how to vote.
The Big 12 expanding into any of these 4 states is great for the Big 12- North Carolina (NC State), Georgia (Georgia Tech), Pennsylvania (PITT), Virginia (Virginia Tech), Kentucky (Louisville) or possibly even doubling up in Florida ( Miami).
Be patient! No need to panic and add UCONN, Gonzaga, CAL, Stanford, Washington State or Oregon State…we will have better options soon!
Nobody is panicking lol
We aren’t obligated to do anything for the PAC4 schools nor are we in any rush to expand
I just realized tomorrow is the deadline for FSU (and Clemson) to make a decision on if they’re intending to leave the conference for the academic year
If nothing happens - realignment ain’t happening anytime soon lol
It was almost years ago when the Pac10 made their fatal error. UofH and Texas Christian were there ripe for the picking. Those two plus Tech and OK State and it’s game on.
That move may have prevented Southern Cal from making their deal with the rice-o-roni folks.
Did we add 2 schools that im unaware of at the moment? I thought we have 16 members and are currently holding at 16. Now NCSU, Georgia Tech and Pitt all have very good to great academic reputations, very good to great markets that the Big 12 currently doesnt have. Louisville has a Northern Kentucky penetration and a very good basketball product…its athletic department generates cash. And Virginia Tech is a good brand and provides a Virginia market that the Big 12 doesnt have. Clearly 4 of FSU, Miami, Georgia Tech, NCSU, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and even Syracuse would be superior to any combination of Stanford, Cal-Berkeley, Washington State, Oregon State, Gonzaga or Uconn. The only thing we would need is the patience to wait on the dissolution of the ACC which might take 12 years or so.
We should wait for Gtech, Pitt, Louisville and NC State.
Should be free.

It was only one unsubstantiated Fort Worth homer that ever claimed such a thing as UH and TCU to the PAC.
NO PAC source or PAC talking head ever did.
It was never a thing.
Never plausible even.
The PAC doesn’t invite R2 religious schools. If they did, then BYU would have been added decades ago.
I rejected that when it was first posted here months ago on that very basis, and I was correct.
The PAC’s big mistake was not taking R1 Big 12 members that approached them after UT/OU announced their departure. They could have killed the Big 12.
Instead……by their non-action….they set themselves up to be killed by the Big 12.
