Melvin Council said he plans to kiss the Jayhawk logo at midcourt tomorrow as part of his senior day festivities.
āDP said heās not going to talk to me if I do it,ā said Council.
I imagine teams can lose sight of the āwhyā when they drop a few games out of the title race but are still going to be in the tournament. I donāt know if thatās what has happened, but it could explain some of the uneven performances over the last few games. Maybe a little letdown after the UH win, as well.

On one hand, I do appreciate how ppl hold ISU to a high standard now. We get plenty of recognition and attention, and that wasnt always the case. With that comes criticism, thatās gonna happen. A lot of strong emotions and hot takes about ISU going from a legit contender to a fading disappointment 2 years in a row.
But lets say, Hypothetically, ISU was on the short list of bluebloods, had all the NIL and winning tradition at the highest level could ask for, a hall of fame coach who has won national championships. A consensus top lottery pick, 2 other consensus 5 stars, and two of the top transfers available last year on the floor at tip (most games lol). Arguably the BEST home court advantage in the country on top of all of that, too.
That team has finished below ISU 3 years in a row. (ok, we will finish tied w/ KU, but still)
All the while being consistently outgunned (or at least matched) Paying pennies on the dollar compared to our competition, Having to get increasingly creative in recruiting and finding diamonds in the rough.
Iām biased, but I do think nobody does more with less than Iowa State and TJ Otzelberger, and yes I do think that makes him at least a little beyond reproach here. He gets all the benefit of the doubt in my book, all day every day.
I think any serious conversation has to begin in this context, and then we can carefully work out from there. Thereās plenty of things that I could point to that are a not a secret that could be leading to this issue, but Iām not anywhere close to criticizing him for any of it. Itād have to get a lot worse than this before I start airing our dirty laundry, Iām gonna stay positive and weāre gonna get this thing figured out at some point. We have a lot to be proud of, and weāll try to turn it back on and get over the hump here.
Or we wonāt, and weāll try again next year. All we can do, a little luck wouldnāt hurt either

I donāt know what you are talking about, but Kansas City is indeed in Kansas ā and Missouri; just like Texarkana is in Texas and Arkansas. It is not at all in Iowa, and there is no other town n Iowa named Kansas City. Is there some joke about this? If so could you please give us the punch line or rationale for your joke?
