So… no dumbass dance for Jerome last night…

We might be. But when you lose to EMU, & you’re 215 in offense, I’m willing to try anything.

Jizzle will shoot 1 zillion 5-8 foot mid range fadeaway & it will drive me crazy but maybe he helps. I dunno.

Dayday has been one of the best shooters in the conference, but it’s hard seeing him keep it up

No championship stops either. For the now,
(* checks notes) 121st ranked defense.

Also dropped…20 spots!.. in KP overall since yesterday. From 54 to 74

Yeah i think we unfairly put too much blame on your sticky scoring guards for your inability to run half court offense.

Now I view Mr. pull up long 2 differently. Fire away, Jizz! Don’t pass to these guys, they arent gonna do anything with it anyways

Lol ok Bowling Green Bball, I see you!

I kind of felt the same way in the final year of Dana Holgerson. This is a safe place for you.

If freemantle makes that shot last yr, then you really could make an argument Wes has zero big wins in 4+ years. Zero.

Miller was always a stretch to me…

Cincy hired him from UNCG…

Cincy should be looking to poach proven P4 coaches… not an up & coming coach from the Southern Conference…

At least an AAC/MWC/WCC coach…

Oh for sure, I get what you mean.

Just know they’re being punished for it tho on the scoreboard. So it kind of simulates the consequences of a blood choke in that regard.

I’d say any time you’re seeing a guy give up his back to avoid a pin… it’s like the scoring equivalent to seeing someone throw a panicked turnover out of a trap for a fast break or the QB cocking back to a guy running wide open, or a QB throwing right into coverage. Yes, technically the play isn’t over yet, nor is the game, but you are ******* up nice and good and everyone sees a likely loss unfolding. Plus giving up your back you look like a silly panicked b**** getting whooped, which is never cool lol.

All you gotta do is finish the play now to get big points, but you pretty much already won that particular exchange, and your opponent will almost certianly be punished for it on the scoreboard in homerun equivalent terms.

Additionally, giving up your back is giving away riding time to your opponent, and an advantage of 1:00 or more of riding time is worth 1 point in the match score. So if the match finishes tied you will lose automatically from doing that too much even IF it never results in additional points at the time (unlikely).

Pinning in high level evenly rated matches is also rare, tho it does happen. And even so, a handful of backpoints, near falls, neutral danger zone calls, etc will add up to bonus points on top of your win. All of these big scoring opportunites are possible in these scenarios.

Not to mention, from purely a scoring perspective, pins are only worth one measly point more than a Tech fall (a deficit of 15 or more match points). This goes for duel, meets, and tournaments.

At the end of matches:
A basic win = 3 points
A win by 8 or more = 4 points
A lead of 15 or more at any point = 5 points
A pin, tho an auto win, only = 6 points

A pin would be the equivalent of the game ending on an impressive monster dunk. This could theoretically occur when your team is down by 30 or up by 2, for example. But that’s not necessarily inherently more one-sided or impressive than a team winning by 40 on the scoreboard at the end of regulation, if that makes any sense. Just kind of a unique silly quirk of wrestling.

@RezClone You making the trek to West Lafayette?

Man… can’t even imagine what those clowns are like there…

They were terrible in Indy…

No. Really wish I could but can’t make it happen right now.

You?

Im not big on committing to winter events well in advance due to weather concerns unless tickets are cheap (these are not). There is nothing worse than spending a good chunk of change only for the weather to turn o spit and take a bath on tickets you cant unload.

Not going to lie…Ive thought strongly about it the last few days. But with Tamin’s status being murky, its harder to pull that 400+ dollar trigger and the time commitment. Seeing a game at Mackey, and in that environment, is enticing.

With that said, I havent ruled it out.

There is nothing better than seeing your team play in a great road environment. I have yet to encounter a road game where Ive dealt with douchy fans. Take that back…Kanaas fans (who are usually fine) were complete a-holes after McLemore banked in that 3 in Allen. I had fans talking spit as we went to leave. Its the only time having fleeting thoughts of punching iditos in the face at a game.

Houston fans were great, but Zona fans were probably the best. They were all apologizing when that halfcourt shot dropped.

As long as you arent a jackhole in someone elses arena, road fans are usually fine. Personally, I prefer road games to home games. Unless they are uncompetitive like the Mizzou gams a few years ago.

I’ve been to many road games in many different college & pro sports…

The first words from Purdue fans in Indy…

ā€œHouston can suck my d!$k!!!ā€

I’ve been to an Eagles game where I sat in the endzone in my Texans gear… Purdue fans were worse.

I knew a couple of Raiders fans from my hometown in Iowa. These were bigger dudes, 6-2, 6-3, and close to 300 pounds. About 20 years ago, they went to a Raiders game with another friend with no allegiance. For context they were playing the Jets, a nonrival who was terrible (along witn the Raiders) at the time.

Prior to the game, they found some ā€œcoolā€ Raiders fans who they tailgaited with. Joe, the non-partisan, wasnt wearing any gear. When the Raider fans asked where they were sitting and the guys responded, they found they were sitting just behind the Black Hole. They point to Joe and ask ā€œwhat’s his deal?ā€. The others respond and say hes just a friend who wanted to make the trip. The Raider fans caution them, saying it would be ā€œwiseā€ for him to buy Raider gear unless he wants to be effed with. Being big dudes they questioned it, but Joe buys a 50 dolllar pullover anyway.

Turns out they were roughly 4 rows behind the Hole. A row or two in front was a random Jets fan who was there with some friends. This guy was a ā€œnormalā€ fan, cheering when his team did well, but nothint over the top. As the first quarter progressed, the bozos in the Hole were threatening him, throwing items, etc. Before the quarter ended an usher made his way down and motioned the Jets fan over. Thinking he was somehow in ā€œtroubleā€, the fan protested. The usher, in a kind but serious tone, said, ā€œYou havent done anything wrong sir, but for your own safety we need to relocate you. It might be at the end of the quarter, halftime, or after the game, but if you stay something bad WILL happen to you.ā€ Shocked and dismayed, the Jets fan reletned and followed the usher with his friends.

Its easy to say on a message board, but Id never stand for this type of treatment. Act like a clown in someone elses place? You gets whats coming to you. But noone should be treated like that in a road invironment by simply being a fan.

Lipsey and Momcilovic in the matching outfits for this podcast interview. Asked about TJ’s tight shirt, among other things.

Must have been sometime in Vegas just before they played the games.
