Campbell is not the BIG12 commissioner. He should have made his grievances to Yormark privately. This is a bad look for the BIG12. Writing this I can’t stand Friday nights or Thursday nights games. Friday nights games is also a big deal Nationwide and not only in Texas. What is crucial is that we get a TNT media contract when the opportunity comes. Surely Yormark is pursuing it. We can’t rely on espn or fox. The TNT production is outstanding and is far superior than the other two mentioned.
Doesn’t look bad. I’ll take the publicity. People are talking about The Big 12. You could argue that the talk is negative but that is bs. It’s fine. It is not damaging. It does remind people that we have some power brokers who will flex and that is fine too.
Al I have to say is, as many times as we have been seemingly forced to play weekday games against our will, it’s good to see Campbell and Tech have to swallow the same tough pill.
As @Kyle_Be_Coogin says, I can live with a weekday road game. Let Tech deal with that.
That is funny but he is also right. Just like we are right about not playing on a Friday or Thursday night.
Agreed.
To me the issue is that they are taking the argument public. Very Utah of them.
I mean, Lubbock businesses are definitely going to lose some money, but that isn’t the B12 or the TV network’s problem. Everyone would RATHER play on Saturday. Quit crying about it already.
Suck it up buttercup
Yeah I was just poking fun at how trivial their complaints are. We also know they don’t care if another B12 school takes the hit.
The problem with billionaires is they don’t believe they should invest any time positively managing their perceptions. Campbell is chair of Tech’s BOR, for chrissakes. Tech should be embarrassed. He’s way over exposed and should get somewhere and sit down.
Yormark won
This is what happens when your billionaire chairman makes every petty disagreement a personal affront to him and the university. The coach never would have said a peep without the cover.
Tilman has said things before and then he’s off for cocktails and it’s over. One 3-hour game has the entire university seething.
That money from the network deals ain’t free. When you’re the paid entertainment you’ll perform when you’re told. This isn’t a negotiation.
