With an up-tempo offense for the past forever, the thing i hated to see the most is when other teams would fake injuries to stop the clock. We faked an injury it in the first series. Hate it!
I noted that too-and like you I sure hate to see us moving in that direction. I remember Tulane did that a lot in their games.
That and lollygagging off the field on substitions chaps my hide!!
I have opposite opinion on this. When offense substitutes especially too late in play clock use the rule to squeeze play clock and potentially gain an advantage.
Watched a game this past weekend, clock running down and team with the ball was trying to tie or win the game with less than a minute to go. Official stood over the ball and the time keeper started the the game clock. Ran a few seconds off the clock prior to official declaring the ball ready for play. Left like 12 or 15 seconds at end of game. Officials can really affect a game if they try.
