Awesome. Thanks for the info.

So was there a board meeting yesterday to set a board meeting for December?

Yes, there was. It was a special called meeting. Most items were discussed in executive session, which means they can’t be made public.

The next regularly scheduled BOR meeting is December 1, 2016.

I am assuming someone bought the naming rights to the indoor facility?

YES YES YES!

Seems like this board meeting wording is different that used when we renegotiated Tom’s contract last year. For whatever that is worth.

If think if anything it is just changing wording intentionally, providing a “nothing to see here” cover.

I would think this would be contract negotiations with Herman, but it’s vague enough to include contract negotiations for a new conference affiliation. If the latter, we can probably kill two birds with one stone.

Usually coaching contracting negotiations don’t usually require approval ahead of time. When Coach Herman was hired and his contract renegotiation, the contract was negotiated and then it was approved at the following board meeting. Maybe they’re afraid that they need to get involved now, but usually UH’s board isn’t difficult to gather if needed. The timing is also curious as most likely, as the next board meeting is in December which is before the end of the season; if needed, the board could have approved any kind of contract at that point.

This seems different; considering the Big 12 is meeting in less than 2 weeks, the timing seems more in line with preparing for that.
