Looks like a really good get. DCTF had him as a Jr at 4.5, but he looks faster with really good moves.

Welcome Jacoby. Itā€™s going to be fun watching those afterburners kick in on Cullen Blvd.

4.5 is super fastā€¦ā€¦especially for high school kid.

Lol - that same area produced a powerhouse at Willowridge for decades - now you barely have a college prospect in the school - thereā€™s still talent out there but in between Marshall and Shadow Creek doesnā€™t take a genius to figure out

The demographics of Willowridge are entirely different than they were in the 80ā€™s. It went from 85-95% African American to around 65% Hispanic.
Marshall is an 85% African American school. With the exception of a couple of really nice subdivisions that are right next to Shadow Creek but zoned to Fort Bend Schools (Willow feeder pattern), there hasnā€™t been a new house or new apartment complex in the area for almost a quarter century. Itā€™s closer to a 4A school than a 5A school.

There is almost no projected growth at the school. Thatā€™s why every 5 years the Superintendent pushes to combine Marshall and Willowridge into 1
6A school, but the Willowridge alumni are still a very powerful and influential voice and are always against it (which I agree with them).

Fort Bend ISD is $100+ million in debt because they built a second HS for Sienna Plantation rather than filling the half empty Willowridge and Marshall schools.

Now the west side of the district (Travis and Bush) growth is completely out of control and they have no $$$ to build a new HS. Travis is now larger than Ridgepoint.

Because all of the talent not at Marshall goes to Ridge Point

And Ridge Point is on the edge of exploding student wiseā€¦I believe the new school being built will relieve them someā€¦

Coaches at other schools are using the underground transfer portal to get the talent out of the Willowridge school zone.

That is why some high schools are dominant in a sport year after year.

Lol - thereā€™s talent still but folks are funneling them out there as soon as itā€™s identified. -

do a HAR Search there arenā€™t tons of empty properties out there also

But there are 2 apartment complexes (one across these street) coming online as thatā€™s the first ever built in the zone

And theyā€™re opening chimney rock to highway 6 also which will spur more houses

Like HISD - districts now turn a blind eye to folks leaving the neighborhood - the McFarlin kid that was accused in the early 2000s of living in the old zone was raked over coals for the same

Just combine Marshall and Willowridge and you can compete but in 2 years everyone will be running to the new FBISD school off 521. Itā€™s no coincidence the new east side schools win quick

Awesome to be having a 2023 verbal commit already and get the that ball rolling for others to see.

Here is an example of a kid getting caught by UIL trying to use the Underground Transfer Portal.
He transferred to a state champion school. This is exactly the method these schools use to win state championships year after year.
