Boom! Kyler Edwards

Our guard depth is back after having to play Sasser, Deeky and Grimes ridiculous mins last year.

Looks pretty salty as long as the chemistry works.

True. Beard and Sampson are similar in that they both demand players to play defense. I love that we got another 6’5” guy that guard the perimeter, especially since we lost Deeky who was our best defender.

Reminds me a lot of Nate Hinton. A little smaller, but not a lot.

He shot 41% from beyond the arc last year. We needed a proven player that can knock down the outside shot. We got him. If Moore turns out to be good, and Mark continues to improve, this team could be scary good.

I know kids can surprise you and leave early but there’s a possibility that after next season 4 of the 5 starters could be coming back:

Mark
Sasser
Edwards
Chaney
(White graduates)

Yeah I think Coogs have more respect for Texas Tech than any other B12 school.

Man between this, Carlton, and Moore what an offseason. I was probably Tyson’s biggest supporter and think he can find somewhere to have success but these adds are a pretty massive upgrades for our team, system, and to complement the players we already have (i.e. Tyson and Sasser is not a great mix to play together).

I’d love Kopp but that seems like too much at this point and gets me worried about a Wichita State situation. I was worried we’d have that issue this year but it kind of worked itself out with Nate declaring and Caleb moving on.

Pretty interesting Edwards had the option to play for Beard at UT and he came to UH.

Where is Roberts in all of the projected lineups for next year?

Edwards scored 12 points in the 2019 NCAA title game. He has legit tourney experience and joins a team with legit experience in March. That can’t be undersold.

Why? Kopp would bring so much versatility. Can start him at the 4 in a small ball scenario. Let him play the 3 off of the bench as our sixth man. Or put him in the game as a 4 when we want to go small. It would be lethal.

I think you would have to start worrying about Shead and Roberts, but that just comes with the territory of where we are as a program now.
