I know where it’s from Mariner. If you can’t get the jest from my posts ( w all the emojis) that I can’t help you. It’s not that serious.
The point is to distinguish, from the time of commitment, a UH commit from the unlimited riff-raff in the portal thread. Goodness knows we wouldn’t want to read exclusively about and focus comments on a UH player. And take into account that there are just as many coogfans members that don’t live on this board as there are that do. They’re not and won’t be fully invested in a broad, general portal catch all thread. They are more interested in UH players, commits included, such that spending and wasting time trying to find a UH player’s info is pointless.
Boom commit threads for UH players is a tradition here. I mean IT’S A FREAKING UH PLAYER.
Milos Uzan:
Had 17pts and 12 rebs vs Providence.
One of his better games last season. Clipped things that i liked:
*Similar to Shead, hes the passer on base line out of bounds plays
*Hes very smooth, crafty. His floater game in the paint is solid
*With his height, he can rebound the ball and lead the fast break himself.
Weaknesses:
*His 3pt shooting
*His assertiveness. Sometimes he just differed too much. Hes not a killer. He’ll get some nice buckets, then kinda go quiet.
We don’t want our PG watching. A great PG is in control, probing, asking for the ball back. He’ll be more like that here. Our team chemistry runs on intensity and being physical. It all starts with him.
That’s what she tells you anticlimactic lol
his pick and roll game is his specialty, and were he really shines
rebounding isnt as much of a lock to be positive, wasnt a great rebounder in oklahoma. he has the size to be one, but for many it just doesnt come naturally …that is a “we’ll see” one
a notable weakness you didn’t mention is lack of physicality … if i told you a guy majority scores by driving, youd think he is always at the free throw line… uzan is never at the free throw line…
context uzan played 32 minutes a game… every single rotation player on Houston got to the ft line more than him… we are a team with no drivers (except occasionally shead) him and ramon got to the FT about the same amount per game and for the season… ramon plays 10minutes a game … his physicality has to improve…
Here’s the thing. Every player that walks through the door at UH has unpolished parts of their game. Some needed to improve shooting while others weren’t good particularly good at rebounding. Whatever their weakness were, the coaches were well aware of their flaws when they committed. It’s not like they take anyone based on stats. Nope. Quite the opposite.
As for Uzan, the coaches obviously saw something in his game that says he can develop into a high-level player.
So, I suspect Uzan will get better at drawing fouls and shooting from long range after working with staff.
Set for Uzan talk.
Shead said he wasn’t supposed to go for rebounds when he was being interviewed about that jam against Aggie. It’s possible Los will also be told to get back on D
On offense, on defense he needs to block out and rebound
Exactly! Don’t need to evaluate the OU version on Uzan, but thinking about what he already does well and will develop in other areas is exciting. I believe he will be a solid rebounder in time this season.
