To the thread’s question, absolutely UH can win. Upsets happen all of the time; and, it would be an upset if UH wins. But, my reality check says that it’s likely not going to happen. My hope is that it is a competitive game.
We beat Tech in volleyball in four sets, who know what will happen in football?
Objectively I think we are one year away from being competitive with Tech, but we will be soon.
Houston is greater than Lubbock.
Go Coogs
We are going to have to flip our whole offensive script to beat Tech. Quick short passes, and QB runs are what I see we need to do to beat them. Get the ball to our running backs in space…
This
We need to mix in the no huddle earlier into the game
Keep tech from subbing and make some plays
I’m not advocating a total fast paced
No huddle but bring it in after a first down
Catch them not prepared etc
Hopefully coaches saw how well this worked in past games and will go to it sooner
QBCW seems to be more comfortable and had longer to throw when we didn’t huddle
Agreed. I’d like to see him and Sneed with a ton more carries. Connors is an efficient runner but I think both Butler and Sneed are more explosive through the line.
On paper they are significantly more talented with explosive players and depth in the trenches. Realistically, I expect a loss….but we were a different team in 2015-2016 with our packed houses. I expect the atmosphere will definitely help just as it did during those two seasons. Early score and defensive stop or turnover could go a long way to winning the game. If we can put early pressure on them and make a couple big plays maybe they will start to press.
Neutral site or at Tech we lose by 14+ and that’s ok as we’re building here….but current momentum we have and playing at a packed house….a win is not out of the question.
