Good spot for Case. Bridgewater is out and may have to retire according to some reports and Bradford isn’t a sure thing with his health history.

The two best things about being a back up. One is your health, two is you are almost always the fan favorite.

The good news is that Case is finding a new home. This off season has seen some very curious with many head scratching signings at the QB position.

Now let’s look at his new Team:
#1 Bradford is injury prone and the starter until Bridgewater comes back…if he does. That is a huge if.
#2 The OL is mediocre to bad/terrible. They did sign two new OL and a good pass protecting rusher. This will help Bradford a great deal.
#3 Finished 8-8…sounds similar. They are a better Team than the Rams right now but not for much.
#4 Norv Turner left…Why did he and how is his successor? It’s up to debate.

#5 Great fan base and new shinny stadium.

Could Case had done better? Again, there were a lot of head scratching decisions. What jumps at you is the 1 year deal. This is all about Bridgwater coming back or not. If this happens Case will more than likely be cut. That’s the nature of the business.
It blows my mind that the Texans did not resign Case. Even if they do get Romo this would have been a major upgrade to what they have. Savage? I keep reading about Savage but what has he done? Case has gained a lot of experience under very difficult circumstances. He knows the bob system so why not? Especially since many so called experts mention that this same system is highly complicated. Osweiller failed for many reasons. the biggest one is that he did not “get it”
At $2M this is a BARGAIN signing. Some people will say that he is worth what he will sign for? Do you agree?
Let’s all hope that the stars align and that Case plays against…the Rams. That would be quite a day.

The best way to follow a QB is through the local press. The twin cities have the following papers:

Thank you to Mark Berman for breaking the story. He is one hell of a reporter. The best that Houston has.

Skol Case!

I’m hoping that Case didn’t sign without some kind of guarantee that he’ll make the team. I imagine that the Vikings would probably trade Bradford if for some reason Bridgewater was able to come back fully healthy, however unlikely that would be.

If he didn’t get that guarantee, this seems like a bad deal, especially with the jobs still available.

O’Brien made up his mind that he doesn’t like Case. When the Texans hired O’Brien, I told my boy that Case was done in Houston, because of the Penn State bowl game.

I sure hope that it is the case but review the cap hit that the Vikings would incur if they would cut Bradford.

Bottom line is that Case’s agent has gotten him $5.635M for two years.
What is the going rate for starter QB’s or back up QB"s?

BOB will not admit to another mistake; his ego is too big. Savage was who he asked for and his cred is on the line. I am not a fan of BOB in the least bit which makes it bad because I do root for the home town Texans,

I stopped rooting for them when BOB never let Case compete for the QB job. When he is fired I will root for them again.

My sentiments exactly!

I too refuse to cheer for the McNairs (Texans). The team actually has little to do with the City except loot the tax payers. Also please note all the teams that have moved from city to city with absolutely no concern for the loyal fans and ticket holders. As long as the NFL allows this they can do so without my money.

I still follow them, but I can’t stand BOB. The Case situation killed a ton of goodwill I had for them, but he’s also just a terrible coach. If it wasn’t for Crennel and the defense, he’d be long gone.

Here are the records of starting QB’s for BOB. 8 different starters in 3 years

Yates: 2-0
Keenum: 2-0
Weeden: 1-0
Osweiler: 9-7
Fitzpatrick: 6-6
Hoyer: 5-5
Savage: 1-1
Mallet: 2-4

interesting that the two that were essentially forced on him are the two with the best record.
