You could tell it was a point of emphasis. More than straight up face guarding, they were just really tough on him away from the ball (making it hard for him to even get it). When he did they were on him fast.
He did get a couple of open looks from 3 but he missed. When his volume is low, he has historically struggled and tends to rush his mechanics. Neither of the open 3s I saw looked good when leaving his hand.
But you know what? Despite the lack of scoring and the foul trouble, Milan wasn’t the negative presence he was last year. Last year if he wasn’t scoring it was a problem as the man he was guarding often was. Defensively he’s MUCH better this year, especially away from the ball. That’s massive in a game like this.
