My big gripe with Otz coached teams is being smarter and more selective with the pressure. Sideline or corner traps? Perfect. Constantly doubling the top of the key or having 3 to 4 guys collapse the paint? Its problematic against the better teams. They are able to pass and/or dribble out of it, which leads to open shots/layups, disorganized scrambling and fatigue, and a slew of cheap fouls. I dont think Otz understands that line or has yet to be able to find it.

Buchanan is a nice bench piece, but its hard to expect the world from Jefferson when NOBODY else can score in the paint or hold their own in the post defensively.
since the COVID tournament Kentucky and Michigan State have spent more time flirting with missing the tournament than being a contender and I don’t see anyone punishing the SEC or Big 10 for that lol
what will get the conference in trouble is if 4 or 5 of your ‘big dogs’ underperform early on again like last year
Hyper-aggressive defense led to some easy buckets, Jefferson got hurt, a lack of post presence, and some good basketball from the Johnnies led to a nice run.
Ejiofor is a massive problem that, quite frnakly, we dont havr an answer for.

Yeah there’s plenty that can be said. But we’re getting killed on the offensive glass in particular. Down low yes. But clean up the glass and we can withstand it.
