" Taking a close, detailed and opinionated look at the AAC as the college football season approaches"
Wow! UH and Dana not getting a ton of love from this article. Guess we’ll see…
The guy that picked UH as overrated didn’t seem to think we would be bad, just that we will have a really tough schedule and that could keep us out of the AAC title game. A few posters on Coog Fans have said similar things. With Cinci, UCF, OU, Wash St etc 8-4 could actually mean we had a really good team and just had a tough schedule.
Seems he picked a lot of teams both over and under rated.
Useless article… as most are !
What I gathered from this article is overrated = not winning the AAC championship. Pretty strange criteria for overrated or underrated if you ask me.
While all of that is true, I don’t understand how that makes us overrated.
Not a surprise … the east undoubtedly is the strongest division in the AAC …
Most all the writers are hedging their bets on Holgerson’s abilities as a HC and King staying healthy … King goes down and its basically over … interesting that NONE of the writers are that keen that our defense will make the least bit of difference in spite of the defensive coaching changes …
It sort of mirroring Sampson’s first year …
I love them bringing parity into question due to UCF’s run, but that same illegitimate concern can be brought up about Bama, Clemson, Georgia, and OU. All schools have relative talent to their respective conferences, it’s just once you build a culture of winning it’s hard to stop it.
It reminds me more of his second year when he added some talented but unproven pieces (Dotson, Rob Gray) to the puzzle.
We were picked first or second in the division by all of the writers
And two of the writers picked us to win the conference. UCF and Memphis were the only other teams to receive votes in that category.
That article pretty much just said “everyone could be good, but everyone could also be bad”.
Coogs are a hard team to predict. We could play really solid football and still only go 7-5. Lots of tough games on the schedule.
The article is overrated.
“I say that we make them eat a giant s**t burger…”
This will be a very interesting team to watch. I hope and pray King stays healthy all year. With this schedule and a new coach, I’d be happy with 8-4. As has been mentioned, they all have us first or second in the West. I hope that’s where we end up!
i wouldn’t say season is over if King goes down,
1, we are deeper at running back
2. we have a solid oline which gives a less mobile qb time to find an outlet
3 holgerson staff likes what they see in clayton tune, he may be just fine with the right coaching.
having said that, I hope we don’t have to find out.
