Cedrick Alley offered

6’6" G/F from Klein Forest, Cedrick Alley was offered by the Coogs and Boise State on Dec 24th. He was All-State as a Junior and the 15-6A MVP. None of the scouting services have him rated, but Vype has him as the 13h best player in the Houston area and the top Undecided (Jared Vanderbilt committed to Kentucky a couple of days ago). Could be a diamond in the rough type player; LeRon Barnes-ish watching the video below.

This kid has turn himself into quite a prospect! Talk about a late bloomer…Not saying he is the next Clyde Drexler, but he has the type of game UH would love. Extremely excellent rebounder, and excellent scorer. These are the type of kids CKS needs to get. He has point guard skills as well.

Add Cedrick with a Center, and UH is set for next season. That is, if Rob Gray returns, and doesn’t go over seas to play professionally, specially if UH reaches the NCAA tournament this year…

We currently have on 2 non-senior bigs on the team, Davis and Valentine. We’re losing Meyer, Chicken and Bert. Who else do we have coming in?

Fabian White is coming in: 6’8"

Breaon Brady 6’8 235

Gray - G
Davis - PF
Van Beck - G
Dunnigan - G

Robinson - PG
Sangoyomi - PF

Adewunmi - G

Two to give, but Coach Sampson says he never uses all 13. So maybe just one more to go.

Through 15 games (13 starts), Brady is averaging

12.7 points (2nd on team)
6.4 rebounds (team leader)
61% FG (team leader)
56% FT
22 minutes per game

His team is 14-2.

Through 16 games (11 starts), Gabe Grant is averaging:

15.1 points (2nd on team)
6.1 rebounds (2nd on team)
34% FG shooting
35% from three

Over half his FG attempts are threes. His team is 13-3.

Fabian White has been tearing it up recently.

Averaged 33.3 per game in the Kreul Classic (3 games) on the strength of a moster 48 point, 21 rebound game.

Scored 26.0 per game in the first 2 games of the Insperity Classic.

Earlier in the season had a 25 point/15 rebound game.

I can’t find much on how Mike Adewunmi’s season is going.

Strong stuff. Thanks

What’s the story on Sangoyomi? Is he available this year and just not earning playing time?

He had a pretty significant injury prior to the season and wasn’t ready to start it. Coaching staff decided that it would be better to save him and have him the next 2 years instead of trying to fit him in this year when Meyer and Nkali were already there. They’ll need his size as they lose those 2 and Chicken next year.

I still think UH needs another Center. Pretty dumb not to use the 13 ships available…Can never have too much depth, with injuries, and matchups.

Coach Sampson said at the 50/50 event in the summer that Chris Harris will be coming to U of H . I think next year. So you have that unless something has changed since then.

Coach K never uses all 13. Neither does Coach Sampson.

But you know a lot more about how to build team chemistry than two coaches who have won 1594 games combined.

OK.

Coach K did used all 13 ships this year.

  1. Bolden
  2. Giles
  3. Tatum
  4. Allen
  5. Jones
  6. Jefferson
  7. Jackson
  8. Jeter
  9. Obi
  10. Kennard
  11. Vrankovic
  12. White
  13. DeLaurier

That’s 13 on schollies. I believe he has 5 as walk-ons. David Robinson’s kid turn down some offers to walk on at Duke.

It’s the first time in 37 years.

From this article written in October:

For the first time in his days at Duke, Krzyzewski also has a full allotment of 13 scholarships on his roster. Previously, his teams counted 11 or so scholarships, and added a walk-on or two to full-scholarship status.

Hopefully Harris makes it in; he’s currently playing at San Jacinto-Central and is 5th in all of JUCO in blocks. even though he doesn’t start and averages 16.7 MPG. He averages 7.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 3.4 BPG in 14 games so far (all wins). He’ll be a force inside if he makes it in.

With stats like that why is he not starting. Are we looking at whoever is starting ahead of him?
