Too harsh on the defense imo. The stats don’t show the whole picture. They did the best they could to keep us in this game. Offense didn’t score a single TD and the defense was on the field the whole game. Of course they are going to give up yards

Yeah, the numbers don’t tell the whole story on the defense when they were basically hung out to dry for 60 minutes. The familiar Briles effect… minus any actual scoring.

They gave up 35 first downs and nearly 7 yards per play. The defense blew.

Houston offense is soft. The OL is soft. QB looks soft. 6-5 240+ lbs , but soft.

Just to throw one positive out there. Not going to try to raise the grade though.
The Coog defense held for 5 field goal attempts instead of more TDs. 2 were missed.

They gave up 75 yards on the first 5 or 6 plays . . . . . Way too many 8 to 15 yardish plays . . . . .

When he is the opponents side, our defense has to be on the field too long. Very interesting . . . . .

Yep, it’s ironic. We supposedly have a QB whisperer coach yet have the worst offense.
And only 2 programs have a worse defense.
Its gonna be a long season.
