Cincinnati Coach Search

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but I just now read that Tommy Tuberville resigned on Sunday. Implication is that it was to preempt being fired.

Candidate pool included Fleck (wants a P5 job if he’s gonna jump), Jeff Brohm (took the Purdue job), Fickell (mostly considered the leading candidate), and Charlie Strong (Texags says that he just got the job, but I can’t find confirmation).

Sad to see UT get to save money so soon, and that we’re gonna prove that they made the right call when we stomp them again. If he gets it, of course.

Actually this was in the news last week. I think it was pretty much decided about mid-season. At least he didin’t walk out on his team in the middle of a big ceremony without even saying goodbye.

Maybe Charlie said he’d work for $1 for a couple years if they used the rest of the budget on other things they need.

That’s good for Cincy and good for the conference. Tubs was terrible and was becoming an embarrassment. Guy has little to no class.

Hopefully, Cincy can make a good hire.

Fickell got the nod according to Football Scoop on twitter.

Strong makes $10 million only if he doesn’t work as a head coach the next couple of years I believe. I don’t see him taking another job until at least the following season.

In other news, FAU is interviewing Kiffin.
