Looks like White is going to be back soon. Pretty big news. Weā€™d to play the conference tourney now, for sure. None of this opting out talk. We need White to get as many minutes as possible before the big dance.

Iā€™m predicting he sees his first game minutes at home on 2/17 against ECU. I think heā€™ll see 5-10 minutes.

One thing that was interesting was he talked about the new immediate transfer portal for next season. He mentioned how problematic that is for a coach when current players on his bench who may not be getting as much playing time are getting feelers from other teams indirectly through AAU coaches. It made me wonder if he was talking about Mills and if thatā€™s what happened with his transfer situation.

When I hear this, I immediately think Jā€™wan Roberts and/or Cam Tyson (two 30 point games, and on the bench)

Could have been Mills too. But, Mills was injured, then covid, plus he didnā€™t spend the off season with the team like others.

Of course, I donā€™t really know. But, guessing that Mills/his parent and Sampson didnā€™t see eye to eye. It was so obvious that Sasser and Q had improved dramatically in the early games this year. No way, CKS could have benched Q, Sasser or Dejon to satisfy Mills.

Haha, so in the span of just over a month Coach went from not wanting Mark to take those shots to setting up buzzer-beater off-the-dribble midcourt 3-pointer plays for Mark.

That says a lot about Markā€™s effort and Coachā€™s vision.

Actually his shot was about the same distance as Grimes jumper from the other game.

summary for people who asked

  • we have 3 scouting reports being made; memphis, tulane and tulsa

  • memphis rim protectors gave us a ton of problems, will try to fix if we meet againā€¦

  • thinks we can play way better than we showed vs memphis

  • players go through slumps it happensā€¦ the greatest shooters of all time will miss 6 out of the 10 times (indirectly talking about sasser)ā€¦ be patient, he isnt missing them on purpose

  • memphis game tie-er with 1.7 secs was flukey

  • our game winner was practice about 10 times over the year ā€¦sasser is the only one that could make that passā€¦strong arms (2 handed over the head pass was intentional, the fact it was a bounce was sasserā€™s decision, Sampson sees no problem with it)ā€¦with sasser eliminated, the shooter was going to be mark or grimes, he just chose 1ā€¦luck was on our side

  • lots to senior/family stories for like 25 minutes- can listen if interested

  • coaches are reaching out to our players, transfer portal is going to be crazy. unintended consequences

  • we will play in the conference tourney
