CLASSIC HS MATCHUP TONIGHT

SJS V KINKAID at Rice Stadium. Two of the oldest private/parochial schools in Houston. St. Johns has only one loss to the top rated private in the state. My grandson (a Brown University commit) quarterbacks SJS.

Ok, so from what I can tell, SJS’ only loss is to Dallas Episcopal.

If they beat Kinkaid, does that mean they go to the SPC 4A title game?

We should go and cheer them on and make a good impression because they are going to end up being our bosses.

OK, here are the current SPC 4A standings:

4A
Episcopal Dallas 4-0 9-0
St. John’s 3-1 7-1
Kinkaid 3-1 7-2
St. Mark’s 1-3 5-3
Episcopal 1-3 2-6
Houston Christian 0-4 2-5

The winner of tonight’s SJS v. Kinkaid matchup, besides winning the City’s longest running high school football rivalry (having been played every year since the late 1940s), will likely also lock up a bid to the SPC 4A title game.
