Comparing the City of Houston to a college town is silly. Nevertheless, here are some headscratchers:

TCU in Fort Worth is 40 spots better than Houston?
SMU in Dallas is 31 spots better than Houston?
UCLA in Los Angeles is 30 spots better than Houston?

The article somewhat redeems itself by ranking Texas A&M in College Station #83 and best of all, Texas Tech #131, 7 spots higher than Baylor in Waco, for a daily double diss.

Starting off, a college town is one that knows when school is in session because of the notable population change. Otherwise it is just a city that has a college in it. Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas, probably Austin now are not college towns.

Yes,for Fort Worth that is the correct order. FW is more fun for college kids, esp with a lot being near the campus, Houston would be higher if you were ranking for working adults and general things to do.

SMU - “in Dallas” says it all, should not have even made the list.

Los Angeles has much better beaches…

seems this list is more which colleges are in great party towns with texas, unlv and tulane so high; none of them are great towns that world’s live and die with that college. aggies should be higher and both UH and SHSU should be lower, very little goes on after the last friday class unless it’s a sporting event.
