Coogs chances at earning a CFP at-large spot

Houston could win out and still not make the championship game. Tech owns tie breaker with 1 loss, and winner of BYU-Cincy game likely undefeated. We arent going to the playoffs this year. Concentrate on winning 8 or 9 games and getting a good bowl bid from the Big 12 group.

You don’t technically have to make the CCG to get an at-large spot. But realistically, this is all theoretical. We’re not running the table anyway.

We are not ready for CFP this year we need a couple of more years of recruiting good
players and that’s my opinion

That’s fair. The good thing is that we appear to be way ahead of schedule

Until we lose another game we’re playoff ready this year… FFS.

The playoffs should be:

P4 Conference champions - First round bye

P4 3rd place teams - First round games vs

Four highest ranked G5 champions.

All P4 conferences get 2 auto-bids, and the G5 scrounge for 4 spots.

P4 runners up had their chance in the CC game

Then there is no P2, and G5 have a fairer shot at representation

Ask me after tomorrow’s game.
Go Coogs!

All UH has to do is win games. This weekend will be an indicator as to where UH really is.

It’s nice to see and fun to think about, but… It seems unlikely at this point in our rebuilding process.

Until we lose it’s possible… LFG COOGS!!!

Heard that before Colorado and Arizona games. The target keeps moving. It’s the nature of this message board…

Those games were both indicators of where UH was. So was Tech. College Football season is short and it takes a large portion of the season to be confident about anything.

We always knew the American isn’t a huge drop in competition when compared to the Big 12. Just a conference with bigger brands and 40k to 60k stadiums versus the American with 30k stadiums. Why is anyone surprised…

…but when the season began, so many were ā€œconfidentā€ we were a 6 or 7 win team, at best. Where did THAT confidence come from?

…so many were ā€œconfidentā€ that several other teams were the best in the conference. Where did THAT confidence come from?

The only thing I’m confident in is that there are a number of folks on here who aren’t confident in a 6-1 team that has ALREADY exceeded almost everyone’s expectations, to this point…. …yet we continue to hear… ā€œwe haven’t beaten anyoneā€.

IMO, we’ve BEATEN 6 teams… in 7 games.
…and I’m pretty ā€œconfidentā€ it’ll be 7 by the end of the day tommorrow.

More specifically, the target keeps going up (a good thing). Team is showing to be better and better.

I just don’t think we’ve lost that one game we are expected to win yet.

Let’s hope tomorrow that the reverse happens. We win a game we’re not favored in and we break Arizona State’s home winning streak.

We win tomorrow conference title still in play, we lose tomorrow season basically over except to play to see what bowl game we can get

Now…

THAT, I understand. And agree with. Good post !

You all call yourselves fans.

Watch this. We will defeat ASU- if Carlos Allen plays.

Houston is hanging a championship banner at the end of the season

Weigman is a winner. He said he will lead this team to big12 championship and thats exactly what he is going to do.

This potentially could be the best UH football team ever assembled this side of the 2000s. Yea, that includes the Keenum years and the legendary 2015 squad.

Retire the jersey already. The Bridgeland kid will forever etch his name in Coog lore.
