Hmmmm…got a feeling he ends up on IR this season.
“I think Greg’s transition has been phenomenal,” Frank Reich said. “He has some really instinctive, natural movements as a slot receiver. Things that are even hard to coach he does exceedingly well. He has a knack, he has very good ball skills so I’m really surprised and I just think he’s way exceeded expectations.
“Again, the other side of me [is saying], ‘Okay, Frank, temper that. We still got a long way to go.’”
Mbu has received a good amount of starting time at nose tackle, where the Redskins are still searching for the right fit. Mbu arrived in Washington as a practice squad member midway through the 2016 season, and the Silver Spring, Md. native has been flying high ever since.

Lee Hightower with a birthday message:
Damnit
How did Wilson get hurt? I was hoping to see him and Jackson on the field at the same time.

William Jackson III’s past helping him grasp his Bengals future
On injured reserve with the Bengals, Jackson III couldn’t practice. So he lifted, reshaping his body throughout the year. The high 4.2-, 4.3-second speed is still there. His weight hasn’t fluctuated. But Jackson III is more physically ready for the rigors of the NFL. He also studied, which was the part of the game he honed at Houston and impressed Bengals secondary coach Kevin Coyle during Jackson III’s pre-draft visits in 2016.
The two cornerbacks finally have a chance to show they deserve an expanded role. Adam “Pacman” Jones is suspended for the season opener against Baltimore on Sept. 10 because of his off-season arrest, so there’s an opportunity for one of the cornerbacks-in-waiting to show they’re ready for more.
Two players, linebacker Elandon Roberts and tight end James O’Shaughnessy, suffered injuries during yesterday’s practice. And at least one of those – Roberts’ – is not considered to be serious, according to Boston Sports Journal’s Christopher Price.
Roberts went down early during yesterday’s session with a non-contact injury after playing in coverage. When he tried to get up, he could not and the medical staff as well as head athletic trainer Jim Whalen were taking a closer look at him. Eventually, Roberts was able to walk off under his own power and after re-taping his ankle even returned to the session. Seeing him return was obviously a good sign.
Tough luck for Frese in Seattle as he lost out to the guy that replaced him after his injury last year. Hope he catches on somewhere else.
