Coogs in the Pros - Week 4

Another week down and all the Coogs are done by Sunday afternoon:

Roundup

Nolan Frese (SEA) - Won 37-17 over NYJ. Frese has really settled in after a shaky beginning to the season. Frese had a perfect snapping day as Seattle connected on 2 FGs (33, 53), 3 XP, and 5 punts (40.6 avg) with 4 downed within the 20.
Elandon Roberts (NE) - Lost 16-0 to Buf. Roberts was made inactive for this game.
DJ Hayden (OAK) - Won 28-27 over Bal. DJ had a fantastic day making 4 tackles, 2 assists and a pass deflection. He also provided perfect coverage on the final play to seal the win.
Charles Sims (TB) - Lost 27-7 to Den. Sims, like the Tampa offense, couldn’t get anything going against Wade Phillips monster Defense. Sims rushed 15 times for 28 yards (both highs for TB) and caught 2 passes for 7 yards on 3 targets. He also lost a fumble in the 1st quarter when TB was driving as he tried to lateral back to Winston while being swarmed by the Broncos.
Kenneth Farrow (SD) - Lost 35-34 to NO. Farrow didn’t get any snaps again as Mike McCoy seems determined to run Melvin Gordon into the ground.
Case Keenum (LA) - Won 17-13 over Ari. Keenum had a solid day for the Rams and really was the whole offense. 18-30 266 yds 2TD and 3 rushes for 14 yards. There are a couple of other threads on the board for Keenum that go into more detail, but the Rams are 3-1 this season and 6-2 overall when Keenum starts.
Injured Reserve - William Jackson III (Cin) and Sebastian Vollmer (NE). Still around 4 weeks to go before they are eligible to return.
Practice Squad - Demarcus Ayers (Pit) and Adrian McDonald (SD). Lee Hightower was let go by Indianapolis this week.

Thanks for a great report. Good showing by some of our guys.
FWIW, I personally don’t consider Sims a UH guy anymore

McCoy, Chargers Coach should have been let go two years ago. The Spanos family (Ownership) keeps making hiring mistake after mistake. Not only should Farrow play more but with Woodhead out this is the perfect opportunity to widen a running offense that is very predictable. McCoy HAS to find a way to balance its offense. Gordon has a history of fumbles and so did Mathews before he went to the Eagles. I can see Whisenhut (not a big fan) take over in the next few weeks. Before we recently moved to Scottsdale I was a Chargers ticket holder for over ten years. Rivers is imo the best QB to not have won a Super Bowl since Dan Fouts. At 34 he is at the top of his game. No, he has been for many years but year after year the Chargers front office keeps dropping the ball. Bosa’s soap opera signing is the latest example. The good news today is that San Diego Mayor has approved the stadium initiative. That will help them stay in San Diego.

Lee Hightower was resigned to the Colts practice squad. Hope he didn’t leave Indianapolis as that’s the 3rd time he’s been signed to the practice squad.
