The University of Houston Women’s Soccer team wraps up the non-conference portion of its 2016 schedule when it plays host New Mexico State at 7 p.m., Friday. The match will also be Houston’s Senior Day at the Carl Lewis Complex.
Coogs continue their strong start. Now to see what they can do in conference. Last time they had a winning conference record was 2010 when they went 6-2-3 in CUSA. So far in the American, they haven’t won a single conference game and are 0-25-1.
Houston was ranked #211 in this year’s RPI that came out on Monday which is 8th among the 9 AAC teams (Temple was last at #241). The American currently has 6 teams in the top 100 and Cincy is just outside at 103. None of the teams that Houston beat/tied are ranked higher than them and their only loss to UC-Riverside was to the 164th ranked team. The Coogs have looked much better this year, but we’ll see how far they’ve come once they get into conference.
