"First job I had was newspaper delivery boy, I wasn’t very good at it, but I got paid and wasn’t fired."
That little quote says a whole lot too me, about his attitude. Amongst a few others in this article. He’ not very good HC, either but he getting paid a sh*t load of money for being one.
At the end of the day, athletics is marketing for a university. It’s how it’s justified. Otherwise, it makes no-sense for 98% of the schools out there to sponsor athletics. If you’re a marketer, is Dana your spokesperson? He could have a winning record, go to a bowl, and beat Texas. He is not marketing the university in a positive light. He has to go. $4 million is less than 0.5% of our budget. To keep him is irresponsible.
…but…but…if Dana does goes go who’s gonna do the portal? You? The portal isn’t just a way to get second-hand cast-offs. It’s a way of life. Think about the bigger picture.
