But unlike the pass-heavy Air Raid, Holgorsen has sought balance in past seasons, estimating his teams ran the ball 50 to 60 percent of the time.
“I got kicked out of the Air Raid Club five years ago,” Holgorsen said. “I was running the ball 50 to 60 percent of the time. They wouldn’t return my calls, they wouldn’t come see me, they wouldn’t invite me to clinics. I went straight ground-and-pound for a couple years and then we recruited this quarterback named Will Grier and we got back to our Air Raid principles. Then they let me back in the club.”
