its kind of true tho lol
Not a bad idea
Why did you list only the non-athletes? I wonât, but I could name a bunch thatâs in the multiple 9 figure range that donât do one damm thing for this school-moneywise or promotionwise. The point is, this is an athletic board (football removed for this year) that discusses athletes and their performances and futures. Maybe youâll still be around when they name a new school, building, even a parking lot for one of them.
As of this post only three people have clicked the NIL link. Now go see the uniform reveal post.
Its still a sense of wonder to me what we lost thanks to this freak. Wish numbers exist of how many season tix, football/basketball, were given up when he increased the prices and went with pslâs. No small step, just a Carl Lewis leap in numbers. Of course, our gonadless leaders than wernât about to say anything.
Once you donate there is dashboard and the members counter hasnât changed much, iirc. Guess not many want to take the burden off Tilman.
Btw, donors can contribute as little as $10 per month or make a one time donation where you can choose any $. You can specify which sport too.
Dempsey charges (psl) of $100 per (most) seats in 1980 is the equivalent of approximately $380 per seat in 2024. He ruined our season ticket base.
Yâall are putting so much expectation in Tilman to donate money
Yâall have kids why not make them come here so they can get rich and donate money back to UH like do yâall not believe in them that way? :shasta: :shasta: :shasta: :shasta: :shasta: :shasta:
Great response! We have uno, 1 Tillman who has done more, way more, than his share (whatever that is) for this school and its facilities. âand he didnât inherit a few hundred oil wells like others that are the big bubbaâs of the cows and farmers.
Yes he did, Dempsey. At the time, I believe almost half left. Leave Tilman alone, heâs done more than anyone thatâs not even a UH alum.
Bevause we all know of the famous athleteâs, especially on this board, but the under the radar leaders in their selective industry (web designers, CEOs, authors, fashion designers, etc.) Also are big money makers so i wanted to focus on those names
I canât believe this guy has his own thread on Coogfans. I think you are trying to get a shoutout on one of his pizza reviews.
If you pay buy them (players), they will come (fans)âŠ
I get that. At some point itâs on us is all
this is really not true though
Houston for the 2023 FY had $78 million in total income with $48.5 million coming from the university through student fees and direct transfers
Cincy had $83.3 with $27 million from students and direct transfers
Kansas State the lowest in the Big 12 (prior to the PAC 4) had $100.8 million in income and only spent $82.2 of it and ZERO came from the university in any form
so they had $22 million more income than Houston did with ZERO academic side transfers or student fees
Houston was getting about $10 million from the AAC in those numbers so that goes away so that is $68 million in revenue
if you add a full $50 million to that (while ignoring that is well over what the Big 12 currently pays by about $6 million) you would have Houston with $118 million in total revenue while keeping that $48.5 million dollar subsidy
that $118 would put Houston right with Kansas at #35 in revenues (excluding private schools) with Kansas having a $1.5 million total subsidy
if Houston even cut $10 million of that it would end up down in the 40s (again excluding private schools) and down near the lowest in D1-A while still having a subsidy that is massive compared to most other D1-A programs
and again that is ignoring that the Big 12 last distributed $44 million so you would need to add $6 million to every Big 12 program if you are placing $50 million from the Big 12 as a payout to Houston
and that is ignoring that the members of the PAC4 now in the Big 12 would be getting about $10 to $12 more each above their last PAC 12 distribution if they were getting $50 million from the Big 12
so Houston is going to need a very large part of that subsidy to remain in place to even be at the bottom end of total revenue for P5 programs and that is with a $50 million payout from the Big 12
If Tilman wants to call the shots then he has to take accountability for his mistakes. Dana probably set the program back 2 years & he reportedly didnât want to help pay his buyout.
